Based on the Robert Graysmith books about the real life notorious Zodiac, a serial killer who terrorized San Francisco with a string of seemingly random murders during the 1960s and 1970s.
This movie frustrated me too much because of its length, the actual time period of events in which absolutely nothing happened, and in general, the overall complete failure of law enforcement to catch a criminal that should have been very easy to catch by the looks of it.
Pretty good movie, just a little long. Since he was never caught, I wonder if he is still alive? If he was 20 when these occured, he would be atleast 61 now, most likely older.
Fantastic. Very true to the story and completely captures the frustrating police investigation for the Zodiac killer. Mark Ruffalo was absolutely superb and probably the stand out performer but generally the acting was top notch. I read reviews which slated this film for it's unconvincing and weak ending but I think it was cleverly done - Graysmith was completely obsessed with the case and the only bit of closure he could get was by releasing his book. The frustration of the inconclusive search for the killer was captured brilliantly. 9/10
This movie was way too long and drawned out . It was a good story but it wasn't much of a thriller , if the film was shorter it could have been good . Maybe worth a watch once on a long boring Sunday afternoon if have nothing better to do .
have to say i really didn’t like this movie, it just didnt pull me in, the storyline was a bit too fractured and un-engaging and jake gyllenhaal just felt like a spare wheel in 2 thirds of the film, could have been much better in my opinion --
also there is one thing i dont understand (

couldnt the police just have shown a picture of arthur leigh to the woman in jail to see whether he was the man who came to the paint party - she may have remembered his face if she remembered his name and also they could have shown his picture to the woman who sat in his car with the baby she had seen his face properly aswell, it would have helped narrow down the investigation a bit??
I think the story is really well told in the movie in my opinion its an edge on your seat thriller with each detail very well added each scene had its place it was really well done I give the movie 8/10 :D
now remined me again why i watched this movie for almost 2 hours and 45 minutes now dont get me wrong it was not a bad movie just in my opinion way longer then it had to be when we all knew how it was gonna end anyone who knows about this movie knows the true story behind it that was my one problem with the movie was the length all in all i give it 6 stars out of ten
It gave me a little bit more of an insight into the zodiac killer .I know that the one responsible did not face justice but the ending somehow gave a little bit of closure in a way.

The way Jake Gyllenhaal stared in the end was definitely the best part in my opinion.
A story that may never have a final ending to it. The police did what they could with not nearly the resources there are in use today. Good movie to watch, very long. A 4/5 rating.
Extremely interesting film by David Fincher. Impressive acting, awesome cinematography and a very detailed account of an absolutely fascinating true story. Recommended..4.5/5 rating.
Fantastic film it answered all the question I had about the Zodiac killer. Its just a damn shame they could never prove that it was Arthur Lee who commited those murders. Overall the acting and the film as a whole was brillant. Defenately worth the watch 5/5
Id waited a long time to watch this film but im glad i got round to it because it blew me away. Im a big fan of the film ''Seven'' and i think this is right up there with it. Excellent story, really keeps the watcher guessing right untill the end. The cast was brilliant. A must see 5/5
