Yea, I think only a vegan, PETA committed, dog lover just MIGHT like this movie.

A pure example of someone going over the top as an animal loving extremist falling into a turmoil depression and how NOT to handle situations.
However, for the most us NORMAL folk are forced to endure this over-the-top waste of time. I still love Molly Shannon though. I give this 2/10. Now I'm going to have me a steak.
I'm a vegetarian who does not support PETA, so lumping all animal lovers into one group is quite ignorant. I do agree that a dog lover would enjoy this, I also think if you don't love animals you lack a heart.
this movie had a good plot and funny parts i just felt like it kinda draged on a little bit like there were some parts that shouldnt have been in it. but it was pretty good overall
I loved this movie. As a dog owner and animal rights advocate I believe in respecting every living creature and not harming them in anyway. But when you become fanatical on your belief and aggressively impose those beliefs onto others it becomes a turn off.
Also, although I believe in not harming any living creature,
Newt (Peter Sarsgaard), should have gotten a serious beat down for euthanasing Valentine, but that’s just me.
There is no meat in most dog food these days. unless you buy the really expansive stuff. My Great Dane has never had a meat meal in his life. I'm not rich. He eats what ever I can afford. If you read the labels.. there is no meat!!(sorry pal)
i loved this movie so much. the beginning is sad. Im a huge animal lover and i would never imagine doing anything to hurt any animal. They should be treated with respect. Just because they dont talk doesnt mean they dont have feelings. I have a dog of my own and i love her do death.
this movie was such a pleasant surprise.. i definitely cannot relate to peggy's love for animals(dogs in particular), but the philosophy she and newt believe in is true.. you shouldn't eat an animal you wouldn't kill.. i'm a vegetarian.. and it's not like i starve..lol.. it's exactly the opposite actually.. anyway people who say they love animals and continue eating meat are kidding themselves.. pigs, cows and chickens are animals too.. just because they don't have, to quote Pulp Fiction,a dog's "personality", it dosen't mean it's justifiable to kill and eat them, whatever the method of administering death.. i like this film because it addresses the cruelty to farm animals, whose slaughtering, people are conviniently oblivious to..
of course if an insect is bothering you, squish it, by all means.. lol..
molly shannon was pitch perfect in this movie..she's the kind of actress who can alternate between, being wickedly funny and shyly endearing.. i really hope she does more dramedies like this..
I loved this movie, it's about having a passion about something, and following your dreams, not following everyone else's dreams, and wants, but your own. I thought it was great. Most people want action packed thrillers..well in that case, this movie isn't for you. It's about someone who love's dogs, and realizes she has a passion for helping animals, she stops eating meat, and people don't support it, or put her down for it, and in the end, she stops listening to everyone else, and goes off to support what she feels is wrong with a group of people who feel the same way. 5/5
Boring people+boring story = boring movie. What a waste of my life.
The only good point made was about how we kill and eat our fellow creatures but I knew about that already.
Better to take your dog for a walk.
