another film has been made of this story its called "the last confession of alexander pearce" it a much better telling o0f the story than this bag of crap.
I switched over to watch corn grow in Iowa..Who would have thought..it does not grow in the winter..Anyway watching snow melt is exciting compared to this movie.
Not your average gung-ho shootout chain gang break away movie. Slow but at the same time very intrigueing.
Luck was never on their side to begin with,

condenmed to an inhospitable island where the only wildlife / huntings are that proverbial one bird in the bush ( that you dont see ) and snake that got away whose only recourse of survival is canibalism
From history reading I do not remember most of the escapees being so well equiped,as a matter of fact I only remember reading about one axe between all the escapees!
Regarding the film its self,I think that it has not been successfull in portraying the desparation of the men concerned,indeed a pont to concider may well be the bond between the learders of this mottely crew,which once again was not portrayed to its final desperate conclusion!
The film is well made,and I do not think that it has been made to entertain, hence the reasons for the afore mentioned statements.
I found it hard to watch because it was so slow. There were just too many scenes that dragged on. Maybe you have to be in a certain mood to watch it. Good acting, good story though. 3/5
It's a slow movie but it's suppose to be that way.
This is one bunch of escaped convicts you don't want to go camping with, or fall asleep around, or lag behind because of a wound and don't even think about mouthing off.
The movies pretty cut and dry - Hey.. I think that was a joke.
