Selene (Beckinsale), a beautiful vampire warrior, is entrenched in a war between the vampire and werewolf races. Although she is aligned with the vampires, she falls in love with Michael (Speedman), a werewolf who longs for the war to end.
.. over this. The Blade movies are darker and rougher and less teenage-Buffy like :p but thats just my opinion.. I know most people love or like the underworld movies..
Finally watching it.. my guy told me to watch the third one first to understand the story more.. which I did but never got around to watching the very first one. 100x more worth watching than silly twilight.
i like this movie alot.kate beckinsale does a great job.this is an accual vampire movie,unlike twilight that is a love story with the mention of a vampire and 5 minutes of action.underworld is a great movie and i recommend it and the 2nd one is great also and the 3rd is pretty good.i hope theres a 4th.great movie. 10\10
Great movie, lots of action, reasonably good acting, but those have got to be the UGLIEST werewolves I have ever seen. I know they're probably supposed to be more human than wolf, but..urg, unsightly things, really. I've seen better werewolf costumes on DeviantART..

ok um LOVE IT LOVE IT love it..
In this past decade 200 to 2009 many vampire flicks have come up Twilight, Vampires Assistant, Blade and Underworld and many more.
For me the leading seris is Underworld ALL THE WAY great characters actors the plot is intense and brilliant didnt see much vampire movies like this. (Yeah maybe twilight is a romantic Vampire Flick) In a way this is too but with loads more action and loads better beside this Twilight films are low budget bullshit if we look at effects and al plus acting but lets not bring that into this :D
Loved the movie gonna watch the 2nd 3rd next and hope the saga does continue it was announced that a fourth would come by for 2012 hope rumors were true :D 100/100 :D This movie nailed it
This is a great movie.. i love the whole epic battle between the vampires and the lycans.. Kate Beckinsale is the perfect vampire.. I love all the series.. Give it a 10/10.. One of the best vampire movies..
Holy ****! Great film, and the ending was :O! The downside with this film is the gun fighting. It's like wtf D:. Other than that the film was :D! XD :P

MAN do I hate traitors!! Vampires are quite crap really, aren't they? lol - I used to think they were cool till I saw this... but they don't stand a chance against Lycans without the use of weapons (where as lycans have none) But still, the movie was ok it gets a bit boring toward the end but the first hour and a half will keep you watchin even if just to find out what the heck is goin on. 3/5.
not enough slow and painful deaths? that is what most psychopaths would say Im sure.. This movie is awsome, and the 2 that followed were also brilliant.
This movie was a good watch, not something i would typically watch has it was very dark in its script but still good, will watch the next installment soon..2.5/5
