saw this was really looking forward to it but it was terrible it was so cheesy it reminded me of H-Man the movie and the old superman films even the acting was terrible i love all the comic book movies but this has to be the worse 1 to date

i have to agree with you totally on this, i sat in the cinema twiddling my thumbs watching it and kept looking at my watch to see if it was going to end soon, i really didnt enjoy it at all

I Saw this Movie May 7 2011:
I really don't know what I was expecting but it was a bit confusing and at some points it felt dragging some points rushed and the chemistry was really bad and Portman great actress but she shouldn't do Marvel this isn't her thing it seems. Chris portrayed Thor quite well now I don't know how this will go with the Avengers but it also seems there will be a Thor 2 interested how that will go. Well we'll see. I actually have not much to say here the story was good acting ok in the virtual world but in reality it was really cheesy some funny moments but pridictable which isn't that good.
7/10 cause I was looking forward to seeing it though

I really enjoyed it. I wasn't expecting much with me not being a fan of Superhero type movies, but this encouraged me to give some a chance. Well acted, great effects, different story - 3.5/5

Definitely worth a watch for any action fan. Rating at 4/5 would not be over generous if i was a real fan of the genre, but personal taste makes me go with a still strong 3/5.

Just seen the movie, and thought it was very good. Very good acting on the most part. And yes, I suppose Hopkins could have or should have had a more Norseman type accent.. but all in all, very worth the wait.

Hey, this movie's worth a visit to the cinema, too big a film to watch some crummy rip of anyway, the sets alone are worth the entry fee. More intelligent than some of the other super-hero outings, well, you'd expect that with Ken Brannagh at the helm. Great effects, Miss P shines once more and yer man who played Thor was born for the part, he's Good. Hopkins playing God? Whatever next.. I thought he did OK.. maybe God really is a Welshman. I used to have an English teacher who used to say that Satan should be played with a Welsh accent, so who can tell! I liked Loki, thought he was suitably sly without being too slimy.. around the main players there's a kind of vacuum though, not many extras or crowds, almost had the quality of a play if you took away the fx. Good flick, worth going to see,, Px :))

Nice to see a lot of British actors in this all action super hero film;
I liked just about everything about this film.
Kenith Branor did a great job with the direction and style of this film.
The 3D was outstanding;

Aside from the brilliant special effects, it's just an okay one-time-watch.
Again, Hollywood failed to capture even a small fraction of ancient lores, Nordic mythology is a lot deeper and imo required a darker script.
Besides, there should be more might to Odin, less arrogance to Thor, and definitely more trickery to Lokhi.
Though it came as no surprise since it's an US big budget action flick, I was still deeply disappointed everything was supremely that predictable.
6/10 for the eye candy CGI
3/10 for the script
5/10 overall
