n the early part of the 21st Century, an unknown virus began spreading among the populace. Within weeks it had engulfed the entire planet, from the smallest rural communities to the greatest cities. Upon the death of its host, the virus would reanimate the corpse until it was no longer able to support itself. Soon, the planet was infested with a new threat - the undead. So begins our journey into the dystopian world of The Zombie Diaries.
personally i enjoyed that way more than blair witch seen as everyone is comparing them camera and cost wise
but other than that the story line was dodgy as a chocolate tea pot, and the acting was erm very well scripted .. it was almost as if they were reading from it some were that wooden
a 1 time watch for the bored zombie fan .. there must be worse out there than this truthfully (i didnt think it was to bad until it got wierd at the end)
and is it me or do they pick even more dumber places than normal to stop the night in .. all of them!
6/10 for zombie fans

I like the idea of the handheld camera style of film like Cloverfield or Blair Witch, but this was all over the place and it didn't really have to be. If you like this genre, then I would give this one a watch..if not for anything but curiosity. I give this one three stars anyway.
is a pretty good movie given the budget and everything. Interesting throughout and very realistic. Plus theres zombies everywhere which is always good. Alot of people flamed this movie and said it sucked, but not comparing it to hollywood style movies like dawn of the dead, and its brilliant. 4/5
was decent enough, hard 2 find a decent zombie 1 on this site with all the rele crappy ones here, i dont just watch ne zombie movie but decided 2 watch this 1 n it was alrite, the shaky hand held camera view only worked 4 blair witch, cloverfield was the worst w it, but this 1 was bareable, not 2 many running scene with shaking cam, sum crazy scenes 2wards the end
Cloverfield is fantastic if you like camera filming where you can't see jack all.. The Host a Japanese film kicks the crap out of Cloverfield. The Rec WAS redone as an American Film, but wasn't as good in my opinion.
The Zombie Diaries was okay. I'd give it a 3/5 but keep in mind I like zombie movies which makes me biased. I sure would like to see a good zombie series that goes from the end of civilization through the hardship years to a new civilization. If done right I think it would be great.
This movie was of course no where near original, but still even a done before idea can good if it were in the right director's hands. Obviously this flick needed a different director and the screenplay itself needed plenty of tweaking before they should have shot any of it. And the one camera perspective things is growing so old. Can't filmmakers leave an idea where it started? After the Blair Witch Project, this whole 'realism' first person cam stuff has seen no end. I enjoyed it in Cloverfield, could have been a little better in Diary of the Dead, but enough already. This sort of thing gets in the way of good story telling. I haven't yet seen this "REC" everyone keeps talking about but I will definitely check it out, after I take a breather from 1st person cam flicks of course. No one does zombiism better than Romero (and maybe a small handful of other filmmakers). As far as this one goes, 2/5 film cans from me.

This most interesting thing about this movie were the two apparent serial killers who happened to be enjoying the whole rise of the dead situation. In actuality, the makers of this movie wouldn't have done better exploring a whole plot idea centered around them. At least, it would have given this movie a decent storyline.

I love zombie films, so I found this one to be a surprising treat. Way better than Quarantine. Yes, this film is done with the hand held camera style filming, but unlike Quarantine, I didn't find it annoying for a change.
Quarantine wasn't a "zombie" movie. So many people get that sort of thing twisted all of the time. The same thing goes for 28 Days later & 28 Weeks Later. People call them zombie flicks too when they are technically not. They are viral outbreak flicks where the people are still human just out of their freakin' minds because of the virus inhibiting their higher reasoning functionality. Technically, what constitutes a 'zombie' is when the original life force or person that inhabited a fleshy body is completely gone or 'dead' and the dead body somehow becomes re-animated from some unknown supernatural force or known engineered cause, becoming a soulless killing machine. Real zombie movies: Dawn of the Dead, The Re-animator, Resident Evil, Return of the Living Dead, etc.
Quarantine wasn't too bad if you consider it for what it definitely wasn't, a zombie movie. Taking it for what is really is, that movie was scary, not because of the virus issue plaguing the hotel itself, but the fact that if something like that happened, the government would shut your ass in their as well, leaving you to fend for yourself in a hostile, and non traversable environment.
I liked it a little bit. Nothing like a Romero but, a decent zombie movie none the less.

glad they brought back the slow moving zombies. that's what they would be like realistically, rather than the fast moving zombies. this movie brought back the zombie shuffle.
The last 25 minutes or so had me lost and they could have ended it better. Must say, I am a fan of the camera work when it comes to zombie movies.
I'm a Zombie movie Junkie and this was like shotin up vinegar. Painful! I still need a good flesh munchin fix too! And this over played one camera things gotta go Its not creepy or suspensful. The single cammera view just makes this movie seem even more cheap cuz Its not even consistant, which totally misses the point of a one camera point of veiw GRR..Watch a movie like [REC] (or the yanky version Quarentine) thats how to pull off a one camera zombie movie!! I really felt like this movie needed to go through a couple more re-wites (and directors).
not too bad they gotta stop with the shaky cam trying too make it seem life like the only people who see life all shaky like that r epileptics so enuff with the shaky cam spend 50 xtra bucks and use a steady cam rig for crissakes 2 outa 5 stars with a bigger budget and some work on the story and continuity this couldve been a realy good flik but oh well worth a watch either way nothing great here watch with no expectations it is what it is a ok b movie ive seen worse but also alot better lol
The acting was good, the plot didnt exist. And the story was completely flat, There were no high points to this movie. and the blair witch camera style DOES NOT MAKE IT LOOK REAL so stop doing it.
It would have given me a headache if i hadnt been playing games at the same time.

this was admitedly slow compared to most zombie films but i love the hand ehld camera style it makes the film seem very real. i can see that the director didnt want to go over the top on the action because he wanted it to seem more real. neways grat film and some realy intense moments but it wasnt as good as diary of the dead which was fantastic
While it's true that the acting in this movie isn't always one hundred per cent, I found enough good moments in this low budget flick to watch right until the end.
There are a few good ideas and the camera style (Rec, Blair Witch, Cloverfield) works pretty well. A good popcorn movie.
