In grand "X-Files" manner, the film's storyline is being kept under wraps. This much can be revealed: It is a stand-alone story in the tradition of some of the show's most acclaimed and beloved episodes, and takes the complicated relationship between Fox Mulder and Dana Scully in unexpected directions. Mulder continues his unshakable quest for the truth, and Scully, the passionate, ferociously intelligent physician, remains inextricably tied to Mulder's pursuits.
If you want to see a sequel to the alien-takeover of our planet promoted in the last X files movie forget it.
No big sheme, no conspiracy, no Aliens. A standard thriller which hardly lives up to the name of the X-Files is all you get. I wouldn't even call this mystery.
Really not as good as I hoped, the trailer and everything else made me think this would be a good one, but a huge let down, nothing like I had hoped, the only part that I actually liked was that it keept you wondering well the first half of the movie atleast, after that it wasnt really anything
i loved the tv series and the first movie but this wasn't anything like the x-files.. like someone else already stated - it was more fbi.. however, it was good to see the two act together again.. great pair :)
It was nice 2 see sexy mulder again :P I liked this one very much, good storyline, but it didnt have much of the old xfiles in it.. 2 bad.. But I still loved it :) & I want more x-files movies :)
I can't tell you how much I adored this show growing up..the episodes changed so much on what they were going to be about, it was always a new suprise each week. I haven't seen the first movie they made but I've seen the ratings were SO much higher on it than this so I plan on watching that pretty soon and being the judge of that. I couldn't get into this! It got so dumb and Dana just didn't act the same, Fox nailed it though..he was always great. She just didn't seem like she wanted to be doing this anymore, and SHOULDN'T have. Not a great movie but if you love X-Files you should see it I geuss?
I've never seen an episode of the x-files, but I was under the impression that there would be aliens and/or paranormal type stuff or at the very least something half way interesting. I was wrong, it's just a really bad mystery. Yawnfest.
I did learn something though...apparently doctors do all their research through Google. Does your friend or family member have a rare disease? Just Google the cure and fax it to their doctor.
same name but not the x-files we all grew up loving. nice to see sexy scully again. but the feeling its been too long a wait to see these two back in action was hard to shake off. too much time and gaps in the story. but i still love my x-files.
I Want to Believe they have another good movie left in them, cause this wasn't it.. It wasn't true to the series at all, it wasn't all bad but, it's worth the watch if you got some time to kill.. The best part in the movie is

when Mulder and Scully reach the FBI building and the theme music plays as they both turn toward the portrait of "W" lol
.. I'd like to see another X-Files movie but, they need to do it right (it took them forever to come out with this) and it wasn't impressive at all.. 6/10..
I thought the movie was good as far as the plot goes, but the movie was more geared towards the relationship between Moulder and Skully and both of them actually trying to go out and solve the mystery that is in front of them.
The first X-File movie was a little better because they were indeed trying to find alien evidence, but this one was more slow and what they were looking for was freaky, but could have been a little better.
If you are a die hard X-Files fan, dont give your hopes ups, but if you want a good mystery/thriller to watch..give it a try.

worst x files ever seen out of so many things the x files could of been about and this is what they made a movie about come on man where all the aliens
I do love the characters Mulder and Scully and love seeing them back, but this to me was not an 'X-Files'. It was more like, detective, police investigation. Although I did LOVE the movie, it didn't have the same edge as the T.V series or the movie back in '98. I loved plot, and think its a movie worth watching, but not spooky enough for me.
Must admit I was a little disappointed at this film cos i adore the XFiles and have always been a huge fan since the beginning. I'm once again working my way through the complete box set since Xmas, now on Season 6. This movie could have been more X-filey definitely!
