I agree, it was a good story, he got what he deserved in the end, and it was the only way the mother could redeem herself after being so passive, I rate it a 3+/5.
Omg I really liked this movie! Elisha Cuthbert & Camilla Belle are two very beautiful and talented young actresses. Their performances were absolutely fantastic. The movie itself was excellent, storyline was believable, and the twists at the end were great. If you like real life situations, family drama and two extremely sexy babes in there early 20's acting as high school teens then pull up a chair :) 5/5 stars - recommend to all.
I liked it because it delved deep into the complex mindset, from the daughters point of view, of an incestuous relationship. Some women who have gone through it will tell you that yes, they both loved and hated their father. Some not all. It was nicely shown in the reaction of the daughter when her abuser was finally dead. Most were probably expecting her to be relieved and full of thanks.
I also liked that they put in a secondary story line between Camilla Belle and Shawn Ashmore. 3/5 Good
The father definitely got what he deserved. I cant help but to feel sorry for the mom, and yet still have so much raw feelings towards her too. Drugs definitely didnt mask the truth, she knew all along. Good movie.
Really good movie,drama, but not slow, good acting and interesting story. Suprising twists somewhere in the middle/end.

The minute I saw how the mother was letting her teenage daughter, Nina, talk back to her, it was clear why Nina was such a despicable person. Parents who don't insist on boundaries of decorum, never mind empathy, from their kids have been raising the kind of pariahs who manipulated the sub-prime loan schemes deconstructing our social fabric. The rest of the film was anathema.

Amazing, when i saw belle in 10,00 bc I thought absolutly nothing of her. But when I saw this my perspective completely changed, shes so stunning in this film all grunged and 'unpretty'. Her acting so believable as well, shes very very talented. The whole movie itself is pretty intense and moving, 10/10.
Great movie, the sick and dark part about it is, there are really fathers like this in this world. most of these fathers get away with it too because of the shame and guilt of having a parent like that . I heard that on OPRAH yeah i watch oprah sometimes. If i ever become president of the united states i would pass a bill that read something like this : any adult charged with sexual abuse of any kind manditory castration and with no type of pain killers during operation and with a dull knife not sterolized.
