Excellent movie about the circumstances surrounding the violence in Africa. The movie blended personal and political problems gracefully.
Niclole Kidman was great and Sean Pean's performance was way above average. They both made a good connection.
The beauty of Kidman is terrific. She looks young, fresh and brisk; like a breath of fresh air. I recommend this movie for those interested in drama, action, international politics and the United Nations. Matobo is a fictitious name in case you're looking for it on the map.
Could have written more action into the plot and quicken the pace a tad bit as it was a little too drawn out. Otherwise Penn and Kidman were good.

Its drawn out drama with too much character development. This movie wasnt about a genocide in Africa , it was about Kidman's and Penn's personal problems. Is there even a country Mombotu? It would of done better with more action and suspense. It does stress some important points about forgiveness, but c'mon.
Its too bad the ICC is as impotent as that guy in Hostel2,, and thats for real.
I wonder why everyone complains about the quality of the movie.. Just buy the DVD if u want quality, u can select the language,..

Terrible movie, absolutely terrible. I have tried to watch it 3 times now, and everytime it puts me to sleep faster than a dose of sleeping pills. I do admit i am a tad biased as i absolutely detest Nicole Kidman, most definitely not one of my favourite actors.
