I enjoyed this "British gangster" movie, but have seen better - Christopher Lee is an ACTOR and did his job well - even Vinnie Jones did his job decently (best of any of his work in my opinion) and it is always nice to see Shannyn Sossamon as usual ( fell in love with her in her 1st acting job in "A Knight's Tale" with Heath Ledger - a great story how she got her first break) Could there have been a better ending? Probably - but it was still an interesting/exciting movie - BTW Can anyone tell me what kind of car Boots (played well IMO by Gary Stretch) was driving?
its spag bol,trust me its just a shortened version of spaghetti bolognaise.the fact people are discussin this, shows how dull the film was.proceed with caution.
Sadly not one of the finer gangland British films, but that said it's worth a one time watch, like so many movie's made they look to the cast to try and carry the film,
If it's raining outside it's worth watching..6/10
The Heavy is not so heavy in any area of film production, as a matter of consideration it may be a light weight film that is full of hot air, and a wasted opportunity!
Vinnie Jones was I am sorry to say very good in this film!
obvious who-done-it, once you realised when the story really started. as for casting Stretch and Paul as brothers, thats like saying yorkshire pie and spag bowel go together!.. Very ordinary.. 2/5

Ok this kinda got out of hand from my first comment branding a nation with no common sense. When I was really only directing it to the one individual..So for that I'm sorry.. I'm only here to watch movies and comment on my experience, not to cause pointless arguements..So enjoy the movie and comment on the movie alone not on a spelling mistake which everyone knows what he ment.

Actually I am british. The slang is spag bol, as you pointed out, short for bolognaise, I just thought the "bowel" bit a wonderful concept, like something you'd say after a bad meal. "I can't come to work today, I have a Spaggy Bowel"

dumb, boring, man Adrian Paul has fallen far since Highlander he should of keep doing those movies, and other action movies too. Did anyone else get mad at the bumbling camera-man, does he even know how to hold a camera steady!
Not bad for a low budget english made film.some good actors in the mix with the legend that is christopher lee,vinnie jones and adrian(highlander)paul,good to see duncan mcloud in something.not the greatest plot in the world but it holds the viewers interest throughout.the ending wasnt great but its watchable.

The shootout at the end was a bit far fetched..theres vinnie ducking beneath a sofa and theres a hail of bullets flying at him from an automatic machine gun and not one hits the mark?..that was a bit corney but they made up for that when his brains got splattered on the wall.lol

I agree with murdurah, the sound track was good.
Hence the title this was Heavy,meaning actually metaphorical kind of way.A slow builder,ironically a steady one.
Yes, another British Gang/politic movie.
