Not bad, also not as good as Centurion. The storyline was ok, fight scenes not that satisfying and the cast was not bad. One time watch movie. I will give 7.8/10.
..Britain at the time of the Romans,besides some really strange accents and all ,it wasn't too bad..but you have to laugh at those weird punk highlanders the other side of Adrian's wall..3/5.
Once again I was dissapointed with this film as it had the potential to be great, however it failed in just about every regard!

This film contains at leased three themes that could have made for a superb film, and it studiously avoided them all.
The initial premise of a Roman commander volunteering for a position in Britton (the furthest outpost of the empire and concidered almost punishment at the time) is facinating. Further that his decision is motivated by the disappearence of his father at the head of a legion of soldiers and the shame that brought upon his famliy name leaves the way wide open for an exploration of the differing morals of an earlier time

even the relationship between a roman officer and a british slave has aspects that could make for a great story, but instead were left with ..
in brief this film is basically a watered down version of Dances with Wolves without the friendly indians .. such a missed oppertunity .. but worth watching the first 20 mins
It took me awhile to come up with that comment title, which is a good indicator about my feelings toward the movie.
It met my expectations but didn't surpass it.
I didnt know what to think for some reason whenever I heard of this movie automatically I thought of 2005s Troy and it is that sorta Epic adventure tale its great. I honestly didnt quite pay attention the first 20 mins I was half asleep or in thoughts I think but when the story started buiding up I was totally hooked its a great movie with an okay cast I think they couldve done better than Tatum. (And whats with the some british Accent and now no British Accent?)
