Troy Duffy does a great job with this film. Tarantino's directness, darkness and humour without the surrealism.
Whether you agree or not with vigilantism this film is bound to make you question the difference between law and justice. It deserves to be a classic.
A fairly linear plot with some very subtle sub plays if you care to pick them out.
Willem Dafoe is probably at his best.

Really good, I enjoyed it. I don't think it's fair to criticise the shallow plot - at the end of the day it's a hugely entertaining, all thriller no filler action flick.
I wouldn't say it was 'really' good or 'hugely' entertaining, but other than that I think that's a pretty astute comment. Shallow and very far fetched plot, OTT acting and a cheesy script but fairly entertaining with plenty of action. Worth a watch.
Awesome movie. I wasn't sure if I'd like it but I'm glad I gave it a shot. It's not listed as a comedy but I was laughing through out the whole movie. This is one I could easily watch again. 4/5.
The only part that I've always thought was lame was when the detective prances about the crime scene trying to replay what happened. It made the movie hit a real cheap feeling. That's just my opinion though. Other than that It's SOLID arse kicking action!!
I loved this flick! I had to go back and see it again, before I started on the sequel.. Graet story, acting, and the location shots were off the chain! They should come back, in the 3rd sequesl, to NYC.
