What an amazing woman!
Such an inspirational biography. I felt a few tears welling up at times but not out of sadness or sympathy.
A truly heart warming story. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I gave this movie at least 10 mins, but gave up after about 3. Good acting from the little that I saw, but seriously I couldn't take anymore. LOL. That rhymed.
What an odd and touching story. How rare this person is. How she struggled and overcame not only autism but sexism. Change, is mostly perceived as something bad. Very few people want to change anything, they want to continue on with the same old way of doing things and having anyone tell them it could be done better is like an attack on their person, people do not respond well to change. They will drag their feet and fight you all the way. I know, any new ideas are usually smashed into the dirt before they have been tried. People have to be shown first, and then explained why. Human nature, we are still relearning what makes us tick over and over. I would recommend this movie to everyone, especially children, so that they can see the worth of these very different people, and what value someone can have that is often considered a freak or retard , a person of lesser value than someone normal, is how we normally view them, we say poor thing, we should thank our creator everyday for our blessings, and those things we do not think are blessings, thank you to the all the people that made this movie and this site for allowing me to see it at my leisure in my own home,, for free.

Much in the same vein as "A beautiful mind" but this time the autism actually gives her superhuman ability in some areas.
A very powerfull movie underlying the well accepted belief that good parenting is causal to success .
she overcame the sexism and brutality of her era with grace and determination..by far the most uplifting and moving movie i have seen in the last 10 years.

But is it a true account..in A beautiful mind.. Nash's life was sanitized to provide a far more hopeful and positive character, so what you see and derive hope from never really existed. Does that do good or harm in raising the expectations and hopes of people dealing with these conditions personally or with a loved one.
it has an excellent cast and the lead is great in the role.. what i worry about in a film such as this or 'a beautiful mind' is that they put out a false message
hope of something wonderful when even average would be fantastic

My 6 yr old son is autistic and I saw him in her character 2x within the first minute. This is an OUTSTANDING movie. It gave ME insight and believe me, I'm already quite insightful being a mother of an autistic child. Clare Danes is UNREAL..absolutely brilliant. Brilliant. The volume of her voice LOL very good.
This movie is fantastic. I was in tears when it ended but that's mainly because it hit so close to home. I wish everyone could watch this movie.

Temple Grandin is a completely original story of someone who is exceptional and who was trapped inside a cage of autism. Fortunately, it's not a disease-of-the-week movie "in which a character suffers from some kind of disability or adversity, and through the force of their personality (and) the people around them, they achieve a kind of normality by the end of the movie. Although this film transcends a familiar formula: the genius-with-a-disability story, Claire Danes gives a bravura performance by bringing a quirky charm and tough vulnerability to the title character. She is supported by a tough willed mother (Julia Ormond in vintage form), a nurturing aunt (Catherine O’Hara), and an inspiring science teacher (David Strathairn - who is never been more endearing). There are many moments of triumph and satisfaction, but in the end, she is different and life is a daily challenge. Overall, this film is a feel-good movie, but it does not follow the conventions of the genre. I gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
very nice analysis. I have never seen Claire Danes in such a dynamic role, I had seen the real Temple Grandin on the news once and the similarity in character was amazing. It makes me wonder why or how autistic ppl have this ability to relate to animals so well. They are visual ppl, who have difficulty relating to humans due to a lack of emotional attachments, but they understand animals so well.. it just seems so odd.
This movie and story was inspiring. Whenever she was encountering ignorance and resistance i found myself literally rooting for her lol. She is brilliant and so was Claire Danes- I didn't even realize who she was for about 40 mins of the movie. 8/10
Temple Grandin did Amazing things at that time in History given her situation and this movie is a testament to the things she accomplished.. It's a Great inspirational story.. Claire Danes also did a excellent job capturing the character.. 5/5..
