Maybe Jessi is a man, but I definitely didnt see this coming. I dont understand why a mother would do something like that, use ur own daughter, private pictures, video's..Its very ironic that she wants to write a book about what the danger is about chatting online.
I think there are a lot of weirdo's on the internet lying about their age and other things, and still winning somebody's trust and its a good thing that this documentary is the proof that u can't trust words, how convincing u think they might be. Go see it, its definitely not a waste of ur time. 5/5
makes you think. I don t really understand how you can have a real relationship with someone strong enough to kill for over the internet but I can see it happening. But i would never imagine a married man with a wife and kids being suck in this type of situation.
Im glad I watched this Documentary..one..because I was reminded of the deceptions that can be used cyberwise..and two..what a pity its use has grown in such a way that fantasy and reality has no boundaries. I mean..what do you think the outcome would be when first we try to deceive??

What sickened me was the idea that 2 adults (who should have known better) had to spin this web of deceit..in which took the life of a teenager & ruined the life of another..plus their families. Im dumbfounded at the idea that Mary Shieler has had no repercussions for her actions. I would have thought her daughter would have had counsel pursuing identity theft/impersonation so that her mother would have to pay some price for her fraudulence in which caused a death. And to think she may prosper from a book deal depicting her twisted..sorry ass excuses. Any monies earned from books/movies etc should be mandated as restitution to Jessica and Brians family. And for Tom..17 yrs with good behavior?? Neither of them should be allowed an IP address again!
The internet is a wonderful thing..if only those who need a life..can figure out how to use it wisely..like watchin movies on this site :)

there's gotta be a way a law can be passed that a person who has been involved in any insight or relevant manor involved in any way to a murder to where they are omitted from making personal gain and money through books movies or any other payable clause from the public or other media,a book or even if she made money from this movie doc,,would do nothing but entice the events to do more,greed and deception have no borders,i would be wondering if her computer has other stuff like this about her son as well.just like Tommy,Mary's fantasy world is not going to end as she couldn't let it end then,she is certaintly not going to let it end now.for her seeing how she doesn't need a computer for work or any other reason i would say if she was caught with a computer then she gets 5 years for every time caught,but then that's not ever going to be a reality,accessory at the least,anyways i gave this a 5/5 even though it took a tragedy to make the film rather than a filmmakers idea,its a watch for everyone young and old
she's sick in the head .. and should be executed for what she done! .. poor brian .. its clearly a warning to all online users on how far to go and actions you take when you get involved with online dating. there's a lot of saddo's out there, so keep your heads up! ..sad documentary 8\10
This is something that everyone should watch. People have no idea how dangerous the internet can really be. Being a mother of 3 it ripped my heart out and I couldn't tell you how many times I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs. It's a must see film.

I'm sorry but I wish those two people were both dead and the real man in this Brian was here. Wasted space on two dumb A** and the one in jails still has no remorse for what the dumb a** did.
I have been online and met many people there. I'm sure the vast majority of people there are just fine, but that does not mean one should not be cautious in finding out the truth about someone.

Thomas Montgomery deserves life in jail since he is the most responsible for what happened, and Mary Shieler should indeed be right there as well, as it never would have happened if she did not keep leading him on. And there is no way that she should EVER, EVER be able to write a book and make a single dime from it. That would just be an insult to Brian Barrett.

I was going to give this movie a 4 stars but -1 because that guy is one lunatic racist for using the N word associated with GangBg. C'mon now really? Anyway i really cannot think of a far more severe punishment for them, even crucify them wont do, make them vaporize is far more kind. About the young guy, i said he got himself into the situation, What are you 10? Does anyone even chat anymore? Didn't your mom told you not to talk to strangers? and cybersex , really? Talhotblond? Why not just go watch porn or something? you will still be alive right now, And myspace? why even talk to someone you don't know? 22 is old enough to know fire from water. And a book? About you killing someone else? whoever buy that should be put on the watch list for NSA, and whoever agree to publish that book is one piece of S. Now this movie is a 2 Stars for pissing me off.
My thoughts exactly I wouldn't by that piece of crap she wants to write. She is still being selfish, trying to make money off of something as tragic as a young mans death.
This could have been summed up in one hour on dateline. It actually would have been better. Not much happens in the movie. It's an entire hour of internet drama that you can read on any forum or message board teenagers frequent, then a few minutes of substance. This doesn't deserve a full movie.

I became suspicious before the shocking reveal simply because the verbiage on the supposed virgin's behalf were a bit too carnally knowledgeable. But. I was not expecting the final twist.
It's ironic that neither of them would suggest a web cam because they were both phonies! Doesn't everyone know the "no cam, no love" rule? Not that I would really know!!

I have been a member of the site these people met on for 10 years. A few years ago I quit socializing there because there was too much drama and people with issues. I just play the games now, guess I was onto something :(
I think this should be posted in every chat box everywhere. I beleive it should be watched by your children before they ae allowed to use the internet. This could easily happen to any one. Cyber predators are real. They can be any one any where. Beware when on line. I give this movie 10/10 because it could happen to anyone.
speechless don't know what to say but watch who you meet on the internet because they could be cool at first and then they get to know you and flip mode and do some crazy stuff, just don't meet anybody up here, just get online and watch movies all day, i think everybody should watch this and think about it.
