This sequel wasnt very good, and not nearly as good as the original "Starship Troopers", and "Starship Troopers 2". The story was long and drawn out, and left a lot to be desired. A real disapointment for it to be a "Starship Troopers" movie. I would rate this movie a 3 out of 10 to see.
Your saying the 2nd movie was better than this and on par with the original? did we see the same movie? each to their own but dang dude i find your post odd is all.

The 1st Starship Troopers kicked so much butt it's unreal, it was just so gritty and realistic in it's approach. The 2nd film deserves no further mention other than to say it existed (thats being uber kind too). This installment is almost on a par with the original though and offers some much needed closure from the original, as well as being kinda cool in it's own right. Cool movie.
The story is not too bad. If you are willing to overlook some flaws you might find to like it. They even implemented a plot twist, which however was not very surprising at all. What I really could not stand was the needlessly exaggerated part about religion.
AHH!! I wanted to vomit so many times because of the RELIGEOUS CRAP!! if anything i found this movie made fun of religion and alien war movies soo badly.. wtf.. worst starship trooper movie EVER made.. the person who directed this one was on CRACK!!
It was written and directed by the guy who who wrote the first starship troopers movie. Odd that you don't rate it because I honestly see it as a return to form.
I mean Neumeier has really piled on the cynical humour in spades, which is surely what made the first one so entertaining.
Please folks don't be fooled into thinking this is sub-par B-movie garbage, it's genuinely absolute genius and a return to true ST form.

Well then he must have started doing crack after he completed number 2 because the first one was killer, the second not that bad, this one was.. garbage.
I barely laughed at all during this film comicguy, so clearly not everyone has the same taste in humor. Also the first one was entertaining because it not only had some good humor, but it was action packed with the best CGI out of all three films. Dude sold out bad with the third one, as the graphics were crap, and the religious aspect completely ruined it, as you can see in some of the comments posted below.
only reason i watched the whole thing was because i really liked the first one and the second one was not too bad, so i was hoping for the movie to get better as it progressed i suppose.. overall it sucked horribly and at least i can warn my friends not to watch it as i painfully endured the whole thing.. once again i must say, GARBAGE.. Also i am the type that will actually give the whole movie a chance instead of some losers who watch 30 minutes and instantly say it sucked. yes i watched it all and i did indeed think it was crap.
Although not nearly as good as the original Starship Troopers, this is much better than Starship Troopers 2, and also closer in style and story to the original. After recently watching the sequel (ST2) I was pleasantly surprised to see that this one is back on track with the spirit and feel of the original. Like I said, it's not as good as the first one, but way better than the second. The whole thing is pretty ridiculous. But if you want to see some bloody crazy campy gory over the top Sci-fi action, along with some thinly veiled political satire with religious undertones, then I highly recommend it. If you are not into that, it may go over like a lead balloon.

I would like to know how this has a rating of 7.2 on here lol. This movie is soo bad its like a comedy, and a bad comedy at that. The original starship troopers is the only good one out of them all.
After the first movie I could not wait to see the 2nd and 3rd. The 1st one was really good. The 2nd stunk and the 3rd, this one, was as good as the 1st movie for a while in the beginning and the middle but except for the final fight scene, the end was lame. It is worth watching though.
it was a return to the old which was welcomed not as much fun as the first but fun and a better sequel than the 2nd. After watching this sequel you have to ask "wtf were they thinking to make the 2nd this should have been number 2". Just like the first the veiled political commentary relating to real life is all there so I suppose like the first will be completely over the heads of the ignorant. Good movie I liked.
a real good movie. way better than the 2nd one. everybody in this movie seemed mad with power. like they were abusing their power. oh and by the way how long are we going to be fighting this war. i give it an 8 out of 10
iam a bit of a world war 2 expert and has anyone noticed that these uniforms are like world war 2 ss uniforms, the nazi eagle is now a modern one but looks the same, the uniforms with the neck emblems that even look like SS rank emblems, the grey hats they are wearing with the eagle in the center, it all looks like it was taken straight out of world war 2 and updated to a modern version..
This whole movie is a propaganda movie for the american army, and all that god crap really made me sick to my stomach
this has got to be one of the worst army and god propaganda movies i have ever seen..

i must say this is a step up,it took me until the very end of this movie and some compassion and deeply thinkin into the whole aspect of the movie,to come to the conclusion that this was a good movie.3/5 i give it.viewers need to 1st not try to make a real comparison of this starship troopers movie to the 1st one.the genres and the story's focus are much different.this had less real up close action,acting wasnt all that great,and lacked that magic which made u want to care for a character,rico was back,but cud care less wat happened to him kinda,the humorous satire was tone down.and there was much emphasis and focus on the "behind the scenes" of this war and its society.which was politics,religion,militarism,corrution,morality.i cud say a bit more, but dont feel like,*thats apathy for u, :D*.NB/for anyone who preferred and liked the 1st movie like me,then watch roughnecks:starship troopers chronicles,it has about the same focus and qualities as the 1st.
I enjoyed Starship Troopers much more when it was a bug killing lark. The heavy handed political and religious tones made the film feel like a punishment for skipping Sunday school. I couldn't sit through it.
i want another film but tbh ver never gonna beat v first and if vey continue 2 make (a word commonly used 2 show a persons distane for something, due 2 restrictions against such terms on this site i shall simply say that it comes out of the rear of a four legged animal with horns) like v second and third its simply a waste of money and a dissapointment 2 v fans of v original
