This movie should not have been made as it gives people too many crazy ideas. With the daily stress and pressure of life, work, etc. the things that happen in this movie are all to true in todays world. People the world over are faced with an ever increasing amount of these type problems and pressures daily, and it just keeps getting worse until someone snaps. Oil, spills, over population, man exploiting man, being over worked for less and less pay, job layoffs, downsizing, growing debt, disease, and especially conflicts over religion. The list goes on and on, and it's no wonder people do this type of thing today when they just snap. Only problem is that this movie will give someone somewhere ideas and they will do the same. Mark my words.
All your reasons for why this movie shouldn't be made are the exact reasons it should have been made!. To say that people are exposed to all of those pressures and then that A MOVIE would then spark them into going mental, that's outrageously narrow minded. This is just a movie and the premise that a movie/game/song can make someone become violently dangerous is both offensive and ignorant.
Scholar you say that watching or hearing something can make someone violently dangerous is both offensive and ignorant..but if a young kid watches nothing but violence and hears nothing but violence all the time then the chance of them acting on it or becoming violent themselves as they get older can happen so it might had offended you but to say its ignorant is wrong..there are studies show this to be true
dream on.. the control of births is the only moral option.. its religious organizations that don't allow contraception or promote procreation..of multiple children. I say people should have a license to have kids.. then at-least the chromosomal challenged could not breed.
Yeah, with the control of births the human species would be amazing. If they only let the genetically superior conceive children there would be less people and along with the better genetics, less disease.
Yeah and Hitler was a great man too! SIGH your all spouting Nazi propaganda and patting each other on the back for it. So who decides whats worthy and whats not? who can and cannot? whats right and whats wrong?. Governments can't even run the fiscal side of economics and you guys wanna let em lose on the people too? deluded insular and completely diabolical mindsets on show here.
theres only so much life this planet can support ..something needs to be done or we are all going to starve to death (or more likly our childrens children will be)
*birth control > killing people though - and even the idiots should be able to have the same rights to kids ... the less differences the more inbreed
**bt peepol dat types lik thz should mak da effort more or noonz but idiotz will tak em seriously
If we are becoming so overpopulated, why is my local goverment closing down schools and maternity unit due to the decline in the population of the area. And it is a nice area.
It was just average until it all came together at the end. For that I'll give it a 3/5 I would have liked a little more on why he shot some and spared others, but that's me nitpicking. IMO, this film is just indicative of society. This kind of thing has already happened and IMO will continue to. To say it shouldn't be made or should be banned is silly. If that's the case then the news should be banned along with the daily paper. Both tell tales of atrocities committed by one human being on another. No, I don't agree with the senseless violence, but then again I am one who can tell the difference between movie shootings and shooting my neighbor. (not that I wouldn't like to)
Good movie, probable reflects what a lot of people feel about this world we live in
but its only a movie and I thought the storyline was excellent 4/5 for me
Yet again, Ewe Boll (quite possibly the worst director in the history of motion pictures) has dropped a steaming pile of crap on us. This movie does little more than justify the kind of violence we saw in columbine, except here it is raised to an even more extreme level. I'm not sure exactly point he was trying to make with this film, other than it's perfectly fine to kill innocent people for no reason other than you feel like it. I never thought I would make a statement like this but this movie should be banned. It's a bloodbath just waiting to happen, because somewhere there is someone weak minded enough to try what was done here. When it happens, their blood will be on the directors hands. For the love of god stop this inbred pitiful excuse for a director from producing more garbage like this.
nothing, and i mean literally nothing should ever be banned.and that is not the case today, lots of things are frowned upon by society.but you have to remember what happened in germany and whats happening in china right now.free expression is being undermined by alot of people so we shouldn't make it any worse than it already is.banning movies or any other form of media is not the answer to the problems we have in our society today.when someone is that unstable that this movie drives him/her to create a bloodbath, the banning of that movie would not do any good.imagine that: movie gets banned before it even airs, but someone that unstable could easily be driven to such an act by reading certain books.so next step is banning some books. but there are other forms of media so we start censoring that, too. so where's the line?who decides whats gonna get banned and whats gonna be legal?its a bad road we went down often enough and people should learn from their mistakes.there is enough censorship going on right now that should be stopped,so lets not talk about censoring or banning even more things.
well i was rather entertained by this movie, and since i hate almost every other uwe boll movie i went in with very little expectation. but i have to say, that was something else, not the usual "bollsh*t". definately passed some time, watch it and form your own opinion.
well it's a touchy subject but'' you have to think about what our world has become ,over populated and for the na sayer's out their birth controll just isnt going to happen!!unless the world becomes controlled by a 1 man government and it would be a manditory thing but ha i dont see it untill 2012 perhaps?our resorses will only last so long mabe another 100 years or so i cant say for sure but the way the oil digging is going i only see worser things to come all these oil companys are trying to keep up with demand becasuse of the population is growing at a rate to much for them to consume it will only get worse going out into uncharter waters not knowing it is safe to drill to much of a rush to make the $, money is the root of all evil .enough SAID~
this is a true movie for the sociopath. I enjoyed its naive simplistic idea, yet know that this would be difficult to accomplish in real life. considering the death tole the FBI would be called in and the reality would be that fingerprints and pathology would point to the true perpetrator. this movie does fall under moral turpitude, yet so much of our social structure could be construed the same. this is purely an idea conceived for entertainment value and anyone considering the contrary should be concerned with their own humane ideals. am I saying i never thought of such a thing, no.. yet there is a thing called KARMA..
I hate to say it but he had a point. This planet can no longer sustain our population. The figures are accurate by the way, the human population has been growing by over 70 million per annum. A truly scary thought.
The problem being is who decides who should live and who should die? I don't believe anyone is qualified or morally justified to make that decision.
It's worth the watch, if you can get over the shock factor and look into the reasoning behind the movie.
the major child births happen in what we class as third world country's where catholic doctrine forbids condom use and other cultural reasons the rate of birth is much higher..BUT the mortality rate is far far higher than any western country..70 million may be born but 70 million don't by any means survive
This was good, but I did not like the way it was made, but it was good for some reason.
[SPOILER]
I only saw three mistakes that he made, one when he took off his mask in the hair parlor there might have been cameras inside he never checked, two in the car when talking to his mom, he messed up a few time, and he forgot about the cell tower leave a record on a computer of where a call came from, and three when he went into the Chicken Den, he used his cell phone, and said a name, make that four he also could have gave himself away when talking to that dude about that coffee.
Auna is right it was about the money after all, if it had really been about over population, what since would it make to kill people, how can they learn if they are not alive to change not they they will ever change any way, most people are stuck on stupid for life, they choose to believe lies so that they can live in their dream world, that is why things continue to get worse in the world!!
This just might spawn many copy-cats, or a following like the "Rocky Horror Picture Show"!
It kind of weird saying that this was good considering what happened in it!
What exactly are they going to learn? People have no interest in learning or doing anything else that might give them some discomfort.
We know for a fact that we are harming the world with how we act as a society. But where is the change? It's in a 5 year plan or a10 year plan, in tiny little lumps that mean absolutely nothing.
People don't want to change they just hope that by the time these problems become too serious to be ignored that it will be their children or grand childrens problem. It will be too late to rectify..
I can only marvel at humanities achievments while staring in disgust at the destruction we wrought to bring it about.
Ok I Looked Him Up As I Was Unaware Of The Director By Name

Boll's first two major releases were the horror movie Blackwoods and the drama Heart of America, both of which he directed and co-wrote.
Boll is best-known for adapting video games into movies, having directed and produced a number of such adaptations, including House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark, Alone in the Dark II, BloodRayne, BloodRayne II: Deliverance,[4] In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, Postal and most recently Far Cry. Boll intends to produce a third movie based on the BloodRayne franchise.[5] Boll also made a bid to direct the upcoming Warcraft movie, but was turned away by the owners of the Warcraft franchise, Activision Blizzard.[6]
In the opening credits to Seed (2007), Boll used footage of animal abuse and torture he acquired from PETA to underscore the film's nihilism. He has also promised to donate 2.5 percent of his net profits from Seed to PETA.[7]
Not a great history of films BUT this one ( rampage )was great..
I also have Heart of America in my collection..not Oscar winning but not hugely terrible either
A very raw and gritty film that reminded me of Elephant with the camera following the protagonist whilst shooting at every one in sight, a bizarre tale of a loner who decides to get revenge, the ending was an unexpected surprise, I rate it a 4/5.
I had heard quite a few good things about this movie, that it had an interesting story, a lot of violence, and a lot of action. Rampage had all of that. It also had a lot of senseless killing for no point but it's just a movie and I was intrigued to see what would happen next and how it would all end.. As for the people that are saying it's unrealistic, it's really not that far-fetched.. I was surprised, for once Uwe Boll didn't make a horrible movie. Someone should give him a cookie.. Cool movie.. 4/5..
On the outside he looked so good and nice..but under it all he was one smart nutbar..Just wish the movie would have stopped stopping every few seconds..Funny but in the real world..like LA.. the cops there nailed the bad guys in bodyarmor to the ground..as in dead..2/5 rating
It was an ok watch. The only real thing that I kind of didn't like was the foreshadowing at the start of the movie.
[SPOILER]
I found that it just revealed too much of what he was going to do. A little bit of foreshadowing goes a long way. The foreshadowing in this movie left me thinking from the get go, "what the hell is really going to surprise me now??" IMO, a better movie with a very similar plot is Falling Down with Mike Doug.
When I say WTF? The good~ The acting was alright and it wasn't boring. The bad~
[SPOILER]
Why set up his friend if he was just going to take off that same night? Of course the cops would be looking for him, especially after what Evan's father says while being taken away by police. What was the point of going through this elaborate set up just to blow it by taking off
.
[SPOILER]
I get that he blows up the police station(They would be able to recover some evidence in the van and im sure his boss would remember him working on it) there would be state police there in no time. How long is he walking around killing people? twenty minutes or more? Why do they keep running in the street instead of hiding somewhere? why run towards the sound of gunfire instead of away from it?
Mindless, senseless, violence is all this is. For the record, I dont normally pick a movie apart like this but these were just too glaring to ignore.
What part of my post leads you to believe i need to relax? Its hardly a rant. Yes, it is just a movie, but that doesn't mean it's okay to be completely illogical, does it?
If im not mistaken, this area is to comment on the movie, I did that.
I agree with the second half of what you said, but as far as an explination for the first part of what you said..
[SPOILER]
His plan was to set up his friend, and he laid down and was going to go to sleep for the night. Then he heard the father on the news say that it was him that did it. So he stood up and grabbed his suit case and left. He obviously had a backup plan to leave in case anything did go wrong in his plan. So he just went to plan B, so to speak, and left.
As far as the other things you were saying I agree, but it is just an action flick that was trying to be provocative.
Very good film, I really enjoyed it. Can't say any of the messages or the referances to consumerism really made a mark on me, but I really liked the fact it's a story about how little it actually takes to push the wrong person a bit too far. With the recent news about Derrick Bird it made me think a lot more about him, and what may have made him do what he did.
I love a movie that sends all you movie watchers into a pathetic typing rage. That's exactly what a movie is supposed to do ..to make people to stop and think. On that one note i give it 5 stars. Cheers to Uwe Boll!
