I rather think it was a great movie, The right actors for the right roles, great music. Dark and gothic.
But it was to short and they left out to much to make sense in some ways
this movie is just good on so many different levels. i feel like i KNOW the characters after i've wathced it. and the soundtrack is just awesome! 5/5 stars. awesome job by all..R.I.P. Aaliya..you'll always be missed.
VERY different from the book, but if you look at it as unrelated, it's a very good movie. The soundtrack is AMAZING (one of the only cds Ive ever been able to listen to without skipping any songs at all), the acting is great, and Stuart Townsend is unbelievably sexy.
to everyone saying it's different from the book:: this movie isnt based off the first novel.. it's based off the second and third.. they're stated as "inspiration" for the movie not word for word straight out of the book.
in my opinion this is an amazing movie.. Aaliyah was perfect for the role as was Stuart Townsend.

This movie just *sucks* you in! lol! I loved it when I saw it in the theater and I love it now! I actually own this one. I am a huge fan of the Vampire Chronicles and this book was a hard read in my opinion but they did a great job of melding the Vampire Lestat with Queen of the Damned - plus a few changes to allow the film to flow. If you know the books you know how well sexy Stuart Townsend nailed Lestat. Even after Tom Cruise did an almost untouchable performance in Interview with a Vampire.. Stuart Townsend managed to bring his own rendition of Lestat to the silver screen and boy did he ever! Very compelling performance for such a complex character. I loved every minute of it and boy is he smokin in this film for a White boy! ;-)
Aaliyah was also fantastic as Akasha.. Despite what they had to work with minus all of the details they did a marvelous job. THE SOUNDTRACK IS OFF THE HOOK TOO! I LOVE this soundtrack. Probably one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard and very true to the film. My only complaint is that it would have been nice for Aaliyah to do a r&b/rock cut for this film. I think it would have worked. Anyways.. do watch.. Very, very entertaining! Very contemporary vampire classic!
You will see this film decades from now I promise!
i really enjoyed this movie cant believe iv only just watched it, its quite different from the book few characters and chapters missing, still its a great movie, a must see for vampire movie fanatics, 9/10 r.i.p alliyah.
Very much in 2 minds about this film, enjoy watching it, but can't help but feel how ridiculous it is when you read the book and see how it should be!!
Even though Ive seen this more than once and remind myself its only a movie but it gets to me..a narcistic smartass vampire and a 20 something girl that cant understand the word NO and questions authority and does what she wants but still a good movie
Queen Of The Damned - Sexy Makes Up For The Acting
Seems like either people love this movie or they hate it. Me - I loved the movie. Sure, it won't be on AFI's top 100 list anytime in this century but definitely a good movie. And yeah - some of the acting isn't the greatest but the sexiness of Stuart Townsend as Lestat de Lioncourt makes up for it ten fold. Overall rating: 9/10
not ur routine vampire movie. cuda done with more action, wasnt exactly a great film but it was alrite i spose. Im usually a big fan of vampire movies but this 1 didnt excite me that much. 6/10. aaliyah was smokin' hot .R.I.P.
Oh this movie was great and the music was excellent.Loved the way the movie started and am very sad that aliyah the queen of vampires in this movie had a tragic death and to add to your information her voice in this movie was dubbed in her brother voice. Would love to see a sequel of this movie. 10/10 in my opinion
