A romantic comedy set in the world of 1920s football, where the owner of a professional team drafts a strait-laced college sensation, only to watch his new coach fall for his fiancée.
You are all missing the point of this movie. How come people that hear the word rugby immediately imagine grate violence and expect extraordinary stunts from actors? This is not a movie to be watched light-headedly, it is not like “the longest Yard”. Whoa cool, whiked how they beat up the guards, and that mentally retarded guy that plays ping-pong: he’s strong..
That is just superficial. Come on, at least have the common patience to sit down and use two or there neurons..
This is a funny movie, with subtleties. For people with a refined sense of humour, a slightly physical humour from time to time, which is even better.
I am not talking to the people that have watched all of the scary movies and are praising Anna Faris for an Oscar. But I am still appealing to their artistic side to have a bit of patience and artistic sensibility and not to be so quick and harsh in judgement.
I am not big on sports films I will say that right away..but something about period films always intrigues me..seeing the game develop from its roots..I enjoyed it..the humor was time set which i understood and i found myself laughing..the acting wasn't bad..the story to me was good..it is worth a watch..and a buy..i gave this film 4/5..live it..own it..love it..
