Hey, an extraordinary achievement, superb story, visualisation and animation.. Studio Ghibli and Hiyao Miyazake have truly raised the standard of possibility in animated films.. John Lasseter and the Pixar crowd are fans for sure and I reckon that's what has inspired Western artists to produce the quality of animation we're now getting from Pixar and Disney.. it's on the UP! "Howl's Moving Castle" is a work of real genius.. sit back and revel in the inventiveness of a great storyteller! First-Class..
It is easy to praise Studio Ghibli and Miyazaki. With rare exception, their anime are some of the best in the world of film. I would recommend other Miyazaki films: Kiki's Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, and, of course, Spirited Away. I would also like to recommend a film from the other half of Ghibli, Isao Takahata: Grave of the Fireflies. Miyazaki favors fantasy while Takahata strongly prefers reality films. Grave is one of the most moving anime ever made. Howl is also an extraordinary film. It is a love story. it is fanciful and has some of the best art in film. The characters have personality and some are quite humorous. Over time, this has become one of my favorites. High praise. 5/5
Everyone loves this movie. I know people who hate anime because it's not American but even they fall for this movie if you can bring them around to watch it. It's a family flick, and it's definitely a classic! Christian Bale voices the titular character and isn't really bad at all! :)
This one is a great tale and you will find a lot of familiar elements from Sprited Away in this Anime. After seeing this flick, you should see Sprited Away.You will not regret that one too.Both great stories. Touching characters that you
care about with Good actors voicing them.
Don't know how but I did not even notice that Christian Bale's voice was used for Howl until I read the comments. Movie was great except that a couple of things were a bit confusing for me such as

why Sophie keeps getting younger and then all of a sudden older even after the curse and what was the deal with Howl's losing his heart to a demon story? Then also why did that Evil queen or whatever decided to stop the war?
One of my favourite movies of all time. It's a fairytale with a twist, where the lead female character isn't smitten or searching for love but on her own quest of self-discovery. She isn't sassy or headstrong to prove a point, but shines quietly, slowly and when it matters. She finds love along the way, but central to the movie is her own journey, her own growth and we never lose sight of that. Brilliant message, with subtle underlying messages. I adored the music for this film. It's a masterpiece.
LOVED IT..what a great adventure love story. And WOW to my surprise Christian Bale was the voice of Howl. I didn't notice until the credits. MUST SEE. 10/10
This is probably one of my most favoritest of Miyazaki's works. Howl's Moving Castle is magical and wonderous and full of fantasmic characters. I absolutely love Calcipher. Never a bad thing to say about anything Ghibli!
I loved it! Before it got 15 mins in i loved it. Miyazaki is a genius. The animation is beautiful and the story is well written. Christian Bale is even sexy in anime. I'll definitely be buying this movie! 10/10.
