Urban coming-of-age fight drama about a tough street kid just released from the Juvenile Department of Corrections. His new foster father tries to channel the boy's rage into the world of amateur bare-knuckle brawling, but his jealous brother has other plans.
There are many things in this world that you never notice unless they're done really badly. I have never noticed music in movies, because it's meant to be subtle and appropriate to the scenes in which it is used.
This movie, however, used harp music for a fight scene. Yes, I'm serious. Harp music. It was not a flashback, and it did not take place in Heaven, yet someone somewhere was playing a harp.
There were other scenes in which I would swear they played two different songs at the same time. The music was so bad I was sure it was two overlapping songs with totally different beats to them. Though if I had to describe the entire soundtrack for this movie, "random noise" would be the two words I chose.
Like I said, I hardly ever notice music in movies, but the music in this was not only bad, but nearly constant. It never seemed to stop. Accompanying such heavy use was the number one excuse to play music in movies: montages. Like classic 1980s movie montages, used very frequently and almost never with any purpose.
The story itself was brutally slow and felt overwhelmingly aimless. I kepting waiting for a story to develop, and waiting, and waiting. I must admit that I finally gave up about half way through, long after I had put the movie on mute to escape the soundtrack.
Then I noticed that muting the dialog actually didn't seem to cause me to miss anything either, and then I just had to wonder why I was still watching something that I did not need to follow. It was more like I was waiting for it to end. Bad sign. A movie should have many little tiny details you need to notice and remember for twists later on, yet almost every scene in this movie felt unnecessary.
The production value could have been worse, but the plot and music make 2/5 seem generous.
I thought it was pretty and good. Good fights. A little romance and a story to go along with it, Probably better than U can do! 3/5. Can't believe the 4/5 rating below. The music was suiting, U must have had a headache.
it was worth a watch to see the small actions on the way it was pre-viewed. It gave a worthwhile idea what was done to kids coming out of a detention center for profit of a dollar. 4.5
This movie could have been a good one, but it was poorly acted and had no point. I guess it's a movie to watch if you just need to waste an hour and a half of your life.
Good storyline and fight scenes but the production wasn't very good - guess it was the way it was filmed and the acting was mediocre, i won't say it was really bad because i think its the production that really makes it fall short. Not good enough for the box office but would be ok for tv. Worth a one time watch if you don't mind the low budget production. 3/5
Ok usually I zap on this type of movie. boxing isn't really my thing. But here..Cought my eye. I liked alot the general crudity; the house, the streets, the clothes the way none of the actors are really ever clean. No exageration on the personality of the characters. And street- kickboxing as a red line. Slow but not enough to bore. the fights are quite good.

I tried to watch it all, got about 30minutes into and had to turn it off, cheesy acting,plot and soundtrack. Wish I read the comments first. If you aint into low budgets, bad acting or boring plot then I would stay clear of this one..Overall 1/5 stars
what the heck are most folks saying?this was a good movie,yea it left out all the phony drama music and fake background music and bullcrap noise but thats what made the movie seem more like the real thing,it was like a little you tube mix with movies,sure like any movie it coulda shoulda woulda but to me this was a really good story with a little twist for the ending almost as if this was some kids real life story i will agree with it seemed a little slow but even with that in mind i still would have liked for it to continue even further hopefully there is a next chapter to this movie to see more life of the gutter king,4/5
THIS MOVIE SUCKS SO BAD..I MADE IT 18 MINUTES AND 39 SECONDS..PLEASE WATCH SOMETHING ELSE..I WILL GIVE IT 1/5 BECAUSE IT WASNT A BLACK AND WHITE MOVIE AND IT HAD SOME OK FIGHT SCENES..WATCH INFOMERCIALS INSTEAD
