A film of two halves.
The first half is good. The second half is OK. I'm just not sure they should have ever been put together. It gave the entire film the feel of spinning out of control, of Tarantino giving in to some poppy dream.
Not knowing anything of the film beforehand, the transition came as a surprise. Unfortunately the make up and wardrobe for the vampires and monsters rapidly became farcical which might be OK in a straight forward horror flick but not when contrasted with the ultra realism which has just preceded it.
The crime film I'd give a 9/10. The vampire flick maybe 7/10. Put together, a struggling 6.
I am a great fan of Quentin Tarantino, he is genius and love his works. From Dusk Till Dawn is a good movie. George Clooney as usual did a great performance.
The first half of the movie was quite gripping. However the second half, especially after the vampires come out of their disguise, and the subsequent scenes were quite ridiculous.
the acting in this was horrible i love b movies like tremors but this had a huge budget and looked like a terrible cheesy b movie the vampires were ---------- quintin got his money from a film he stole from a film student now we have to put up with his horrible movies hes a geek and not a cool geek the guys directing style borders on ===== the fx stank the acting stank even the corny wardrobe stank if you like screwball over the top nonsensical comedies youll like this if you like serious vamp movies or a movie with a good plot acting etc dont waste youre time on this craptastic cheesefest
eeh this is directed by Robert Rodriguez! thats why its not that great! and Tarantino is horrible at acting in this one, which he also recieved a golden raspberry award for. BUT Tarantinos movies rocks! He knows what he is doing, always making quality movies. if you havent watched pulp fiction, kill bill, reserviour dogs.. I could go on. I love Tarantino. and please dont call him a geek :/ the man is just a little different than the average person.. doesnt make him a geek
Whats supposed to be serious about a "Vampire Movie"? It is all make believe over the top crap whether serious or not. Might as well have a little fun with the crap along the way. Tarantino plays a great part in this film as a crazy nut. Rodriguez wrote a masterpiece that has become a cult classic for people that enjoy non-serious movies with gore and laughter. Better known as a "b" movie, so serve me some more cheese pleez.
This movie is awesome, the music is awesome, one of Rodriguez best ever followed by Hell Ride. Both are must sees! Awesome writing and directing. 20/10
