A remake of the 1985 original, teenager Charley Brewster (Yelchin) guesses that his new neighbor Jerry Dandrige (Farrell) is a vampire responsible for a string of recent deaths. When no one he knows believes him, he enlists Peter Vincent (Tennant), a self proclaimed vampire killer and Las Vegas magician, to help him take down Jerry.
Haven't seen the original so i cant comment on the difference between the 2. It did pretty much what i expected it to, if you watched the trailer you knew exactly what you are getting. 7/10
I never saw the origional so I can't compare. But I like the idea though bad time to remake it I mean cause of all this Twilight I just had enough of Vampire movies especially the nowadays ones when they try to cram in somthing into the theatres.
All in all it was a good experience funny and thrilling :D
I think the other characters apart from the lead and his girlfriend were under utilized (especially evil ed..man why wasn't he in it more..?)and the worst part was tennant
doing what to me looked like a bad impression of Russel brand..seriously ..he was the only real sucky thing in what was other wise a very good interpretation of a much loved film
I loved farrells scary ass but some what sarky/non plussed vampire
Nowhere near as good or funny as the original and I have to disagree with Maeve, I think Colin Farrell, while great to look at, poorly played the vampire. I did enjoy David Tennant's performance.
wont' even waste my time with this one..like so many others hollywood has churned out. they make me sick with there lack of originality. TRASH..pure trash!
they are messing with a classic..we will see how this turns out. Greed has taken over hollywood and they will stop at nothing to make a quick buck. I can't tell you how much I loved the original..Malcom M. made the the movie along with Chris Sarandon. ( i know my spelling is terrible)
look what thet did with Let the right one in..need i say more?
What's changed in Hollywood is a lack of originality and laziness. The greed factor has always been there.
BTW I enjoyed Let Me In and with a rating of 8.2 so did the majority. The acting couldn't have been better IMO.
There's absolutely nothing wrong with remaking a movie if they use technology they didn't have the first time around or add a few new ideas. Hopefully they do a good job with this one. We'll see soon enough!
You got the wrong McDowell. It was Roddy in the original, not Malcolm. But I agree with you, just don't understand why they keep doing remakes. Guess it's because people keep going to see them.
you know sometimes you just need to let the classics remain the classics. this may end up being a good flick but they will never be able to recreate the cheesy yet 80's feel to this movie. yes the original was cheesy bu that is what gave it it's charm. i think hollywood just needs to stop trying to remake old flicks and start coming up with original scripts. there are plenty of good books that they could make into pictures but that may be too much effort
One of my favorite movies from my childhood. Hopefully this remake does it justice. I like the chose of Colin Farrel as the bad guy but I think the make or break will the three main "teen" leads. The original three just seamed so perfect from the whacky Evil to the innocent girlfriend and Charley was just great. Peter Vincent also has a lot to live up to, but the casting seams pretty good there.
