While it may have been a cute family style movie and tries to portray the fact that capturing wild animals is wrong..you need to capture wild animals to send the message..this is definitely wrong! How many Willies has it taken for this studio to make the profit they seek? 4/5 for the idea 0/5 for your actions.

lol, that´s exactly the point.
I recommend watch "the Cave" doc, it´s the same story about fliper´s dolphin story, and how that was the real BOOM, for the dolphins captivity.

yeah there are a few to meny free willy movies but to me there filled with much sadness in them but also there is a great sotry behind it.. and this story just was'nt about willy it was about a grand daughter and her grampa .. touching story i loved it.. this is a must see movie by the whole family.. 10/10 stars..

Aren't we tired of seeing Willy getting freed all the time.Free one willy on cinemscope and capture 100 others for Orlando, Japanese food and other parks in real life .This is the 4th movie i think with the same thing going on.The first one was good but after- it got repetitive. Yes it's bad to keep an Orca in captivity but then our society has far worst ills than this don't you think. Anyway..nothing new here. Happy ending in movies but bad ending in real life..for the Orcas and may be some of the trainers

Auna, you must be a very lovely but yet complicated woman. All the comments i see from you are severe critics to the movies, without any production advise.
Well, if you don´t like bananas, why did you eat them? Thats stupid, you did know already what was going on on this film, and despite that and instead of doing a critic to the prodution, storyline, and other thing, your critic was the concept. Ho my dear, if you don´t like the general concept about this why did you saw the film..
Anyway, if you have time in your agenda, go and watch "the cave" documentary, there you will see the food and the captivity are all diferents parts of the same book.. ;)

I heard about this a while back and was really hoping they weren't gonna do it..but obviously they did! Its not like the Free Willys at all, I don't even know why they kept the title!
I have only watched about half of it, and thinking of it as a seperate film it's not too bad, Bindi is great, and I suppose the story is ok, it would have been much better if the orca looked realistic though! With the technology these days you'd think they'd do better! I'd give this film 2/5 and I'll stick to the origional trilogy!

Just got done watching the movie with my 13 year old son, and we both like it a lot. It would have made more sense if the whale was not again named Willey, but had left off with his sister Luna. We did enjoy it, but not as exciting as the other films.

If she had been the daughter of Jesse or Elvis, I would understand. Was actually pretty good. Steve would be so proud to have seen this. I'm glad Bindi is following in her fathers footsteps. At least with movies the animals are a little more controlled.
Also, #7 Novamov works really great, but it takes longer to load than it does to watch.

To anyone making comments about how they shouldn't use captive whales in this movie, they didn't. That was not a real whale playing "Willy." In the original, yes a real whale was used for a large amount of those scenes. This movie was not nearly as good as any of the previous 3. Probably because the cast was completely different and the story was boring. The whale, Keiko, who played the original Willy passed away in 2003, five years after being released into the wild. 2.5/5
