I wonder if the visions/messages were mere psychosis imbalance.Distinct inability to distinguish reality from fantasy?!
The movie itself wasn't terrible. The acting was above average, especially from the kids, I thought they did very well. Then ending was horrible imho though. I wasn't looking for this to have an over the top spin to it. That kind of left a sour taste in my mouth.

From the beginning it was pretty obvious to me that he was going to kill the FBI agent. I would've definitely liked to have seen him as a .. nutjob in lieu of him actually carrying out the word of God.
This movie is pretty damm cool, dont remember it comming out but so glad I watched it!

I kinda was suspisious when he first started telling the story and they showed fenten and adam as kids, Adam was blond and fenten had brown hair..that and the had already showed the other brother as having brown hair
was still a little suprised by the ending..if you are thinking about watching this..DO IT!
this movie has everything..the actors are good, the script is SUPURB, the story flows almost effortlessly. it shows a family's decent into madness.

and it was so creepy to know that the cop killed his own mother; and that Adam KNEW about it. makes you wonder if there was something to all the "visions", huh??
Well that was a good film..was really started to hate that man and was also thinking what a sick cyko he was and that hed turned his kids into the same..liked the ending. 9/10 good thriller with a twist. Think there needs to be a few more people like him lol
This is truly one of the best American horror films ever made, an absolute classic. I'm still cleaning out my shorts from the ending, didn't see that one coming I must say. Man, this movie had everything you look for in a good horror movie; an intelligent plot, good tension, good scares, good kills, and a SPECTACULAR ending. I just can't say enough good things about this movie, it is one of my top 10 movies of all time. A MUST WATCH!! 4.5/5 stars!
A pleasant surprise for a modern horror/thriller. Very interesting and unusual storyline with a nice twist, solid acting and plenty of opportunity to use your imagination.

I had guessed that the FBI agent was a target somehow, but didn't know why or that the "seeing demons" thing was true. I'm not a big fan of religion, but that was pretty cool. Films are usually determined to stay as rational as possible when it comes to the twist, but this film did things a little differently and I liked that
WOW!! loved it!! Father and son movie. One son you want to be your favorite is your nemesis and the one you pay no attention to wants to be just like you. Sit down and watch and get sucked into this slowly building masterpiece. This movie is not for the gore horror fan. This is a classic thriller!! You must see this film. Not for the whole family!! Some of the contents are deeply disturbing
