The movie is based on Ntozake Shange& play "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf." Unlike the original play which featured only 7 women known by colors performing the collection of 20 poems, the movie has given each of the 20 characters names. Each of the poems deal with intense issues that particularly impact women in a thought-provoking commentary on what it means to be a female of color in the world.
i loved this movie. i loved how all the women wore their colors throughout the movie. i has to do more with unity and knowing that what we go through, we're not alone in it. the ultimate is God and Love.
Ok all in all I don't have much to say its an ok movie with life lessons sort of I just hated how it was brought out Im not racist or anything don't even think that. But How they told the story and ending messages they said said Black people have loads of troubles in life with their colour and life that brings them. First off there was no racisim in this movie so the colour problem wasn't really shown plus losing someone getting raped abused and so forth happens a lot each year but this movie really expressed the feeling these things have greater impact on coloured people I feel thats untrue. Yeah racisim sadly is an issue. But lets not get carried away people around the world have most of these problems its not like it only exists for the diffrent colour I mean as I watched the movie it was ok but from the ending message thats what I got.
And I liked the movie all in all great drama and it shows how guys can screw up girls lives (Well you know there is the occasional Girl causing trouble too) I mean I see and hear and totally agree what most men these days do to women is outrages disgusting but you shouldnt blame ALL Men for the trouble one caused you of course its a huge impact but not everybody in the world is a pig and this is the problem. There are so many asshole guys in the world .. the good guys cant be spotted or just not given a chance cause the asshole got there first and theu judge you immediatley by that standard. I see where the pain comes from but its unfair and wrong dissing sombody for sombody elses mistakes.
