I know this is a sequel, but having watched the first only last night, it seems more of a re-envisioning of the first. Almost as if the first just didn't turn out the way they wanted, so they refilmed it and called Evil Dead II. Don't get me wrong, still love these batty a$$ films and their delightfully cheesy clay-mation DEMONS(for those who didn't catch that in the movie). I could hon:estly see going insane being alot like this movie. Either that or a good LSD trip. - ) 5/5
I originally saw this movie when I was a teenager, and I don't remember it being this good. I remember it being more comedy than horror, but this movie made me jump a few times and the demons were cool looking. About the only hang up I have with the Evil Dead movies is that there are decent looking chicks but no sex or nudity. But, they are crazy funny, have cool creatures, good kills and gore, a few jumps, and plenty of action. Classic horror/comedy, worth MANY watches! 4/5 stars.
This movie is amazing. I don't exactly agree that this is better than the first, simply because I do not believe any of the movies in the trilogy have the same style. The first was hardcore horror both now, and even more so in it's day. The second was horror, and the plot mirrored the first, but the budget the far higher, and the script held more depth of horror and comedy, which allowed Bruce Campbell to showcase his acting far more. Then finally, the third, was mainly comedy, but just as amazing as the first two installments in its own right. I give all of these movies a 5/5.
I agree, this movie is amazing.. I thought this was a great sequel to the original.. Bruce Campbell is great in this. I haven't seen the third one yet, i'll check that out next.. 5/5..
Sam Raimi did it up right with these 2 classics, Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2!! These were originals, one of a kind. Bruce Campbell is excellent in both. 10/10 stars
Evil Dead II is a "pretty cool" movie. I thought it was very funny in most parts, and it's corniness is what makes it a must-see. I'm still partial towards Army of Darkness, but this was just a small step behind. Bruce Campbell is absolutely hilarious. I did jump a couple of times, and I'm not afraid to say. Overall I give it 3/4 stars.
Really good movie over all. good comedy, creature effects, and tons of blood. The only prob i had is the opening gives a kind of abridged version that doesn't truly show what happened in part one, but the jest is received. But there is true hope! You've seen Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2, and the threequel Army of Darkness, I am proud to announce that a Army of Darkness 2! same director sometime in 2010! check imdb
That's how long it's been since I last saw this . Hell I used to have it on VHS lmao.
It's cool to find it here for free. Still makes me laugh after all this time.

Excellent sequel..better than the first..although, to be fair, this did have a far larger budget.
Very amusing, jam packed with darkly humorous scenes and fountains of blood, complete with a great ending. This is how it's done. 5/5.
