..what was the movie like / BECAUSE THE LAST TUDOU LINK DIDN'T WORK! Was so annoyed that I spent the last hours looking for how the movie ends..
Please someone write it is spoiler because out of the things I hate the most, beside watching a bad movie is not watching it to the end!!
that red barn he passes through on his drive down route 66? it's about 10 minutes from my house..weird to see something you see everyday in your life on the big screen
kirsten dunst is one of the worst actresses of our time, and she never fails to ruin a movie for me
With near Steel Magnolia dialogue (minus the star power) & a killer soundtrack, this is a fabulous romantic comedy. I am totally shocked at the number of folks who found it slow & boring. It makes me wonder at the literacy of our Country these days.
We meet Bloom's character amidst a classic business debacle (a fiasco), done with hilarious self narration, a risk dramatic device but the filmmaker pulls it off.
Then the unexpected transition.
We meet Dunst's character in the transition, and we suspect that this dingy chatterbox blonde isn't as dumb as she may appear.
The Characters that populate the hometown (The Title) of Bloom's Dad are immediately infectious and as the tale unfolds, the tension of the opening
starts to fade by comparrison. Craziness ensues, as well as the hint of romance,
when Bloom's Mom (Sarandon) shows up & real madness comences.
The move toward the consumation of the romance starts with a road journey and the heart of the soundtrack, which is a retro bombshell. The conclusion is as sweet as it is inevitable.
A well crafted film, evidently not for younger less patient viewers who won't get it until they grow up a bit.
I thought this movie was great, I can't understand the negative comments. Dunst character was charming and Orlando Bloom was terrific, no accounting for taste I suppose
I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE AND I DEEPLY DESAGREE WITH SOME BAD COMMENTS!!
THE STORYLINE IS PRETTY GOOD, THE CAST IS AMASING!! I'M A HUGE FAN OF SARANDON WHOSE DID A GREAT PERFORMANCE, ORLANDO BLOOM TOO!!
AND AN OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE OF KRISTEN DUNST. I START TO LIKE HER BECAUSE I REALLY FIND HER BEAUTIFULL EVEN IF SHE DOESNT LOOKS LIKE GIRLS IN FASHIONS MAGAZINE..
AND WHAT A BEAUTIFULL SOUNDTRACK!! I LOVED IT ESPACIALLY BECAUSE THERE WAS MY FAVORIT SONG AKA "FREE BIRD" LYNYRD SKYNYRD!!
SO I THINK IT DOESN'T DESERVE THIS RATE AND I GIVE IT A 9/10
it wasnt a bad movie but it wasnt anything extra special either. both orlando and kristen have stared in better movies!! the movie overall was ok, worth a couple of watches!! 8/10
The acting is immaculate, but I will agree that it's not the best movie in the world. That being said, Orlando Bloom is in it and he's ridiculously gorgeous, which would make it worth watching even if it weren't "decent" on it's own. It may not be my favourite feel-good film, but I have seen it four or five times and still find it quite tolerable, if not flat-out enjoyable.
I think anyone could enjoy it for at least a one time viewing.
To me this film was awesome the first time round. I was feeling really low, was alone and in need of comfort. I could really relate to the themes and characters of the film and it made me really laugh and cry also - which took me by surprise - especially the part where the mom dances for her husband. A really good movie. May not be for all but still worth watching.

this is more of a film that the fans of the actors or actresses would like.
still there were some bits I laughed at and some bits that I thought were really sweet.

Okay I have to agree with everyone that the first time I saw this, it was boring. But that's because I didn't get it. So I kind had a suspician that this was the case, so I watched it again. It WAS good. it's one of those meaningful movies. Give it a chance.
I really like movies like this one. It reminds me of a cozy small town and the country. Just good energy. This is definitely not a waste of time to watch. So watch it!!
Oh my. I saw it once, never going to see it EVER again. It might have had a point, but I never saw one. I saw boring boring, waste of time etc. Nothing more to add to this than that it sucked :)
Unless you got really bad taste or is both blind and deaf I recommend to not see this movie. :) hf if you choose to look away from my warnings.
Slow and takes a little patience to get through at times but the overall purpose seems to be lost to some movie goers who want a quick to the point plain plot. But at times this movies was a bit hard to keep enduring. All in all 2.5/5
I liked this movie a lot. It was very deep and touching. It is about how we all need something to live for.. "happy is he who learns to endure what he cannot change." There is so much in life that happens to us and around us that we cannot change, but if we can learn to endure it, then perhaps we can find a little happiness, and, yes, maybe even love.!
This movie is Hilarious. This isn't boring, not every one understand the beautiful acting and the meaning but if you consentrate this will be so much more then a MOVIE.

I saw this movie around the time it first came out on DVD..I LOVED the movie..maybe because I had gone into not really expecting to really like it much..I kind of figured it be decent and worth watching @ least once..but once I got into the movie..My heart went into the characters..I havent really watched it since then (maybe once or twice) but I did like it a lot (Rating for me~ 5/5)
