This was one of my favorite movies in 2003. Will Ferrell is brilliant as the Elf. The supporting cast is great too, especially Bob Newhart as his elf "dad". The characters are well written and it is a refreshing film to get lost in. Will Ferrell plays the elf with such innocence, he is so funny! This is not just a Christmas film but when the DVD comes out I will be watching "Elf" in July. The story progresses nicely, there are many lessons to be learned as you watch this movie. It touched my heart in many ways. I highly recommend this movie for kids AND adults, you won't regret it. Treat yourself and watch this "original" movie. Hollywood needs to make more like this.
aint it the cutest! haha hilarious! Ive put of watching this for ages thinking "nah not my cup of tea" how wrong I was, trully funny and well deserves the 9! Should really be 9.7 (watched december 15th) haha
halarious, i love this movie, it's the second time i see this.
I will abseloutlu see it for christmas with family or friend for some christmas spirit.
A must see, great acting and a beautifull story.
10 star movie :D
Will Ferrel is funny in the 2003 comedy/Christmas flick, 'Elf'. He plays Buddy, an elf who is lonely--because he's not an elf. When Santa tells him this mind-boggling news, Buddy travels to New York to find his Naughty-List father (James Caan) and ends up getting the hots for an attractive Christmas store elf (Zooey Deschanel). Fun is the best word to describe this movie, because it's just a zany and fun movie to watch, even for little kids. Don't worry, this isn't Old School or Anchorman, it gives funny and mostly non-crude jokes for the kids, and the shower scene is hilarious.
at dinner when he asked for maple syrup and they said no and he pulled it out of his sleeve..ahaha..then he drank that 2 litre bottle of coke and let a big one go..lol..
Then there was the part when he was making breakfast with speghetti, poptarts, chocolate sauce, m&ms and tons of stuff..
ohh ohh and the part where he calls his dad and tells him the box in the corner is making an evil hissing sound then tells him he'll call him in 5 minutes..lol
there is soo many funny parts in this movie to list them all =P
This movie was fablous, I can watch it over and over again. Will Farell is one funny guy but i would say this movie tops any movie he's ever made. This is one of my favorite comedies..It's clean fun and great for all ages.
James Caan is such a serious person, so he played the perfect part in this movie..It's a must see and must own kinda movie. It's great for any time of the year and not just christmas.
