Everyone is recycling, everyone is conserving water, everyone is switching to hybrids, the manufacturing industry is held to much stricter regulations, trees are now replenished..

I agree that pollution from dirty industry and over-consumption needs to be seriously sorted out but the CO2 thing is just a smoke-screen (literally!) to avoid the real environmental issues and squeeze even more dosh out of us. I stopped buying all the lefty hype ages ago. Nearly convinced me until I widened my reading and did my own research.
And which earth are you living on? Because I've not seen these improvments your talking about. This community has minimal recycling. The forests are clearly shrunken compared to what they were as a child. I've seen maybe two hybird cars in the entire city. Not seen the industry, but I doubt it's as rosy as your claiming either.

I all truths we do not have a energy problem when we have whole worlds full of gases that we can used as fuel, after all we do have seven other planets in our solar system. Some of those planets have plenty of Hydrogen, methane, and many other flammable gas, some even have liquid forms of those gases!
There is a lot of usable resources in the sol system. Problem is in the crak ridden super capitalism of the modern world. (In theory capatlism is good, in theory so was communism. But people can't seem to use them in reality without distoring them in harmful ways.) Their too obsessed wtih hoarding and being better than others. To bother trying to get out there and obtain resources we need for our long term survival.
Sending a colony out from earth to another world is the simplest logic of improving odds for long term survival of humanity. But heaven forbid people have to actually pay for it. D:
I'm no green freak but facts are facts, we can't continue the way we are. We need to change and be self sustaining.. Currently we are a fuse that will eventually burn out.
Eeeyeah.. The fact that this was an ABC special, the fact that the term "global warming" was not once used but replaced with "climate change", 5/6 of the film shows only the grim, possible outcome of mankind versus the small ending showing the glimmer of light if only we.. (watch the movie) It just reeks of propaganda.
I'm all for going green for obvious reasons but allowing our countries to sign the United Nations Climate Change Treaty this month is just another way of chipping away at our liberty, our freedom, our wallet and our resources.
"Government" is supposed to represent "the people" - I don't recall anyone asking my opinion about this! No, they get their way by manipulating us with so called documentaries such as this one.
For all the green people out there, if you really wanted to make a good contribution to the planet; stop buying televisions and turn them all off. Between the TVs and computers, all those plastic components (products from oil) just keep your computer. At least this way you get to pick what you're interested in rather than being spoon-fed what they want us to do, be, buy, eat, think..
That was intresting its definatly not gonna play out word for word but i have a feeling most of this stuff will happen i mean it only seems natural theres to many people, resources are getting scares and the government cant contain the whole world. We are like a virus and RIGHT NOW we are plaguing the earth and it is using its natural deffeneces against us to either kill or contain us (we might learn to live in balance with nature when the majority of people are gone from the face of the planet). Mother earth knows best and she has a cure for everything.
At least "Avatar" was watchable. If I'm going to be spoon-fed my propaganda, I at least like it to look pretty. This was pure crap-o-rama.

Meh, tired of the gloom and doom. In 1972, it was "Global cooling". Since the idiots can't make up their mind from one decade to the next, they now just say "Climate Change"
Go green to save money, and to never have to see another blackout, or drink contaminated water ever again, also why depend on the government when all they do is waste resources. Just look at our electric companies, they waste 60% to 70% of the electricity that is transmitted down their lines, just think about it, that would be like paying 100 bucks for a meal in a restaurant, and only getting 30 bucks worth before it get to your table. A total waste of good money after bad!
Everything comes to an end. This video is mentioning a lot of things that have already happened. No one is going to change until something so drastic happens that by then it'll be too late. So all this video does is tell us what's most likely going to happen and what could have been done but realistically will not be done. So just enjoy the time you have left on this earth because it won't be long till it's gone. Either that or we'll just learn how to adapt to the new and harsh conditions, either way at this point I highly doubt any of that actually matters anymore.
Liked the style of this documentary, it shows us what COULD happen if we don't change our thinking towards the planet and it's natural resources. Think this is likely to happen one day and wipe out the human race. Because at the end of the day it all boils down to money, serves us right 4/5..
Nothing occurs that doesn't change. Hot becomes cool, from chaos to order, from vice to versa. Some adults simply don't like being told what to do and for others it just depends on who's doing the telling. Too many people view things in this country the way the TV wants them to..Right or Left versus appropriate or ridiculous..both parties have one ma$ter and are equally clownish to me. All we can do is try harder to be serious and sober ourselves, Teach or own kids genuine responsibility and try to be prepared at any time to lead our own families if and when we are called on. It's easy to live in a bubble of naive and ignorant bliss, taking for granted all the everyday commodities we have in abundance right now but one day, in the not so distant future that ignorant bubble will burst and reality will kick in like a kick in the nutsack and just as your head drops forward an uppercut to the chin.
And even if this was just a load of hogwash and the issue of climate change did turn out to be nonsense, wouldn't it still be a good idea to teach our kids to live a less wasteful life and appreciate what it means to take care of the environment we live in?

Well about 65+ million years ago, the ice caps had Aligators on them, that's how warm it was. Then the Ice Age happened, but a planet isn't meant to be that cold. Look at Venus to see one extreme to us, and then look at Mars to see the other extreme. I teach my little cousins not to be wasteful and to take care of the Earth, but not out of fear, but because it's just something you should do. Humanity will alter the world, like the Dinosaurs altered it, but then a dramatic event will happen and we'll be gone for the next species. That's what I think.

If the world don't stop all its bad habits, then this catastrophe will happen. There is no such thing as unlimited resources. We are using resources up to fast to provide for a rapidly growing population and Antarctica is melting rapidly. This is no propaganda the evidence has shown and proven, people are just to stupid or scared to think that we can do what even we want to the planet, without consequences. No way the earth is going to survive to 2100, with the world still foolishly in denial like it is. This movie is a warning to people to change or the earth will. To think that we only have five years, before we reach a point of no return is rather scary! Society and its leaders are slow movers, and as they said; "to used to living the good life" to give things up.
This is a reality check that more people should see.
They said Canada and Siberia would warm up and still have water, so I imagine millions would flock to these places. That many people moving into any country would devistate it as well, which would leave no place safe.
Even with the kind of evidence they portray on this video, people still shrug and say "oh well, it won't be in my life time." I think that's the scariest part of it all!
Either limp into the future forever scarred by the past, or supersede all expectations and make a change. We are stuck in a paradox of how to face this looming problem, afraid of what life might be like. Will the culmination of all human endeavors be fast food and big cars? The opus of our existence should not be material, we cannot have a pinnacle. To struggle is to live, if an apex is reached we will have lost purpose.
We didn't know how to split the atom before it was done, we didn't know if going to outer space was possible, yet we succeeded. Now we have the answer to our problem, the solution is in front of us. If we change now, we survive.
The whole ficticious story of "Lucy" really was boring, as was the woman narrating the story of "her life".
There was only a shred of scientific information in this drama. -more hype than fact or accurate prediction of the future, merely aimed at giving goosebumps than helpful information.
SKIP THIS MOVIE, unless you have a great tolerance to slow, boring, uninformative dramas.
Long past time to get real about these problems. Trading carbon credits is not a means to solving anything. It is only a means of wealth transfer from poorer people and countries into the pockets of the already rich. Buying and selling pieces of paper will not fix the problems of our climate only massive change by governments and big business will save this planet.
I agree, the rich always find a ways to make money from the poor, here in the U.S. our companies do not produce anything tangilable any more and this is why our country is going broke. Why would anyone want to buy our services, they cost too much.
I wish that the money that went into the TARP had been spent on building out new electricty grid, Wind farms, and solar farms, but instead it went to the rich yet again!
No NO NO..governments and big business will NOT save this planet. Only each of us as individuals can change the world. We cannot rely on the government. The only real changes ever made on this planet have been by a small group of passionate individuals who see the truth clearly.
