A young girl walks through a secret door in her new home and discovers an alternate version of her life. On the surface, this parallel reality is eerily similar to her real life - only much better. But when her adventure turns dangerous, and her counterfeit parents (including Other Mother) try to keep her forever, Coraline must count on her resourcefulness, determination, and bravery to get back home - and save her family.
This was certainly a different movie. The animation was very good. So was the music. Did anyone else notice that Coraline was left-handed. Maybe I noticed it because I'm a lefty. BTW--the number 9 version from Loombo worked fine.
I rate it 9/10
i love how people think this is a Tim Burton film. it is like 'Corpse Bride' and 'Nightmare Before Christmas' in a way. when i saw the advert i was waiting to heard Tim Burton's name but i didn't cause it's not one of his films.
I already have a phobia of buttons. ]: This film scared me. Haha.
This really is a brilliant film. It makes a nice change from the mass increase of animations aimed at families which are turd. E.g. Happy Feet, Meet The Robinsons, Madagascar.
I really liked it. The music, the art involved. & it's an age old tale portrayed in a new way.
Oh & the mice were too cute. [: Even with buttons for eyes.
It was actually very enthralling. I saw it three more times after the initial viewing within the very week. I was thinking it was going to be some little kid's movie, but soon it had aspects to it that would keep adults on the edge of their seat. I was wondering how my five year old cousin saw this because some parts to it scared even me. Yeah, it was sorta creepy, but, I liked it, and loved the storyline.
Henry Selick, the director of " The Nightmare Before Christmas" and "James and the Giant Peach", once again takes us to a world full of imagery and wonder..but this time..some of it is actually frightening. It was filled with such magic and enchantment that I completely forgot that it was a dark tale..until the occasional scares filled the air. It has some highly fun and amusing characters in it also, and that is the strongest thing of the movie.
Very Good, And Very Creepy But..too Many Unanswered Questions.
Overall I have to say this is excellent concerning details, smoothness, and clarity of the animation. But, on a down note it also leaves too many unanswered questions.

What manner of creature/spirit is this? Why are both dad, the kid Whybe, the cat and others in both places, how can she take mom and dad and not Coraline, and so on?
Be careful what you wish for! You may just get it! Kinda scary for the kidees too!
Wow I loved it anbd the fact that its a whole stop motion animation movie it makes the movie even better :D I mean how much work they had to put into this? WOW. Great story and cast :D 10/10
I am so glad tht I waited til there was a really good copy to see this film. I enjoyed it so much more. Interesting animation, not my favorite, but still it was entertaining.

but a good movie it seems a little too scarry for kids and it would have been much better if they made it for teenage audince and addult in my opion there could have been alot more you could do with it
Wow all the morals in this movie i don't know where to start I give this movie5/5 stars this movie was nothing less than awesome you would think at 34 I should be watching more adult flicks this movie was good and wholesome. I was wrong thinking it was a Tim Burton film so plz excuse me. I really liked it and might buy it for my daughter who is now 2 1/2 years old hoping she might get the same messages i did THIS IS A MUST SEE FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES :)
