A working mother puts herself through law school in an effort to represent her brother, who has been wrongfully convicted of murder and has exhausted his chances to appeal his conviction through public defenders.
Very touching movie. I kept wondering how it was gonna end, and was amazed by the fact she kept believing in him and did everything except giving up.
It was great to see that she could prove he was innocent but I hates the words at the end that said he died 6 months after he was out. Very very sad.
Great story, great movie, great acting! 9/10
PS:Juliette Lewis reminded me in the end a lot of Aileen Wuornos (the movie ''Monster'' was based on her story). But if you have seen the interviews in the documentary that was made of Aileen Wuornos, Juliette Lewis will definitely remind you of her in a very scary way.
Conviction is a compelling and emotional story based on true events and for that alone it deserves to be seen. Hilary Swank delivers however it is Sam Rockwell who puts in one of the years best performances that should earn him an Oscar nomination. More often than not it is the simple well-told stories that are around on red carpet day sitting amongst the big shiny favourite, which this year looks to be The Kings Speech. Still, if you’re in the mood for a good drama this should be top of your list. 8.7/10
I rly enjoyed this movie.. its rly sad that he was imprisoned for 18 yrs and missed all that time w/ his daughter.. gotta luv those dirty cops >.< but gotta give the sister the credit for standing by her brother and actually putting herself through law school so that she could be his lawyer!! Great story!!
ppl who get imprisoned for that long, for something they haven't done, should be given some sort of pymt (compensation).. cuz 18 yrs is a lot of bloody time.. what's the poor man gonna do for work?! gotta luv our corrupted system!!
there are a few movies out about the wrongly convicted and the efforts to have them exonerated and this story is just like all the others. it was, however, well done and well-acted - but still, if you've seen one, you've seen them all.
I liked it very much by the trailer I didnt like it much Im no Hillary Swank fan XD exactly the opposite I don't know how old she is but I bet shes 20 times younger then she looks but whatever.
It was a good movie and considering real life events its impressive really and I like what they went though and how its a hard story of injustice and theres so much of it in this world but lets face it the guy didnt look innocent as I look at it if your not guilty don't yell cause when your yelling your just proving you feel guilty. Its as simple as that you shouldnt yell or fear if you have nothing to hide that guy got arrested cause he had a HUUGE criminal record behind him and even though he was right it was hard to belive. But yeah Injustice SUCKS.
