Something was missing ( I sure it was the charisma of Arnold that still is fresh in our memories as the Conan, with a body of a barbarian and the voice to match it) , lost interest in this Conan movie half way, though the fight scenes were really good, just watch it your self and judge. 2.5/5
Putting to one side the past connections with Conan,this film can be viewed as a NEW conan as the film story line is so different!

Honestly the movie I remember falling asleep on bits and pieces but I almost did see the whole thing and hardly remember. The majority that I remember is the fight scene at the end which for me really seemed similar to Prince of Persia 2010 .. come on
Villians death was great always counting on that :D
It was an ok story but again not a memorable one sadly. Have to see it again somtime
Saw it on the cinema.
And sure 100 minutes is not enough to capture the tale of conan.
But it was good acting, good effects and cool fights so i really liked it.
Conan sucked on so many levels..the plot was generic, the acting was just ok, the special effects and visuals looked dated, Conan wasn't his usual uncaring mercenary self.. I could go on but whats the point? I finished watching on the third try. Note to Hollywood after movies like "300" and "Troy" the bar for these kinds of movies has been lifted beyond the scope of plain movies like Conan.
I tried though. I dropped any bias and gave it a fair go. But half way through this I lost interest.
I couldn't be arsed to be honest, it was just too poor all across the board. Script, acting, fights, directing...
It wasn't flowing. Conan was not Conan anymore. Just some bloke getting his pay cheque trying to act mean.
It was so not epic... I ached.
In fact it felt like watching a pimped up more gory version of Hercules with Kevin Sorbo.
It was high time I stopped kidding myself convincing me that the next fight would make it better.
copy's not great so missing a lot of the action that may be why im not that impressed so far..
I honestly think half way through the character he played in the
'game of thrones '
tv series had more of a Conan vibe than this one..he also looked bigger in that too..maby second half will be better
Based on the day you made your comment and the comment itself, I can only assume this is yet another movie you have not seen. If you were to rate a movie on the special effects alone, I might agree but altogether, not as good. 3/5
Hey, I just watched the trailer and thought it looked quite good, in a Barbaric kinda way dontcha know.. bit like a Death-Metal concert in fact, hence the music! Hollywood has always revamped previous hits.. think Sherlock Holmes, Batman got better if you recall.. eventually.. Superman? No-one'll ever be a genuine as Christopher Reeve for those of us that were there but perhaps a new generation requires new versions, as they do with pop-music being endlessly re-cycled and almost always falling short of the original. Trouble is of course we'll all go to see the new Conan, just in case, so the movie-makers win in the end anyway.. Bring back Arnie.. now he's a REAL Barbarian! Px :))
Just re-watched the trailer to be sure..
It feels so wrong.
It's all cramped (BAM WHAM CGI) , no scenery / landscape, no meat to the character, no plot transpiring..
Hollywood has dried up. Just like the pop music industry there are no fresh ideas.
The only innovations rest with the special effects department so rather than risk everything on new movie ideas they just rehash classics. (BADLY)
Conan is Arnie and anyone who dares to fill his shoes will never have the same charisma and cheezy wit.
I just saw another clip from this movie..a young(child) Conan defeating five men at once..very bloody. My interest is peeked. ( although I have to agree ..there is only one Conan)..I will wait and see:)
