The most delicious event since macaroni met cheese. Inspired by the beloved children's book, the film focuses on a town where food falls from the sky like rain.
this is a kid's movie, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. it's cute and colorful and full of moving parts. there is only one problem. it blows. say about me what you will but if a film is going to be this predictable and formulaic, then the journey needs to be enjoyable. this film's was not. sit the kiddies down in front of the tube and they may get a thrill. YOU may get a thrill watching THEM get a thrill, but you certainly wont get it from this movie. wait, let me amend that. you may get a thrill watching it, I just didn't. (And yes, since i didnt like it and most did there is something wrong with me.) I wrote the previous comment to save you the trouble of responding.
I thought it was a decent movie Steve the Monkey was hilarious i never read the books growing up so i don't know how much the movie differs from them but its a must watch once movie 8/10 rating
I was laughing most of the way through this movie although I was mainly irritated by the characters stupidity .. I found that I wanted to slap all of the characters, as they were just strange.. I give it a 7/10, its worth a watch but not as great as some other animations I have seen like, How to Train Your Dragon..
This was an ok movie. I remember reading this in school when I was younger so I thought it would be cool to watch it. It didn't turn out quite like I had hoped but it was worth a watch.
to tell you the truth it was just okay 7/10, might have liked it better if the book wasnt a childhood favorite that hollywood took and turned into a feature-length film..
I'm not a huge fan of animated features, or children's movies. My tastes usually gravitate towards (good) horror films, foreign films, and more artsy independent features. I saw Up, thought it was a really great animated feature, but would I see it again? Maybe if i was babysitting. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, however, blew me away! It had such vivid, sometimes surreal, almost PSYCHEDELIC qualities, that I found myself awestruck at what the creators of this film had come up with! There was so much color, and such an imaginative design quality to the film that I couldn't help being thrilled. I'd probably give this 8/10 for those qualities alone, but in my opinion, the best part of all were the characters! The comedy was seriously non-stop, and so over the top ridiculous at times I was completely laughing out loud. Mr. T as the security guard. Very entertaining and fun character. The talking monkey. The Guatemalan weather assistant/doctor/pilot/whatever else.. HILARIOUS. baby brett? Oh man. The list goes on. I'm 28 years old, and while I often enjoy kind of sick, off the wall humor, I really found this to be a VERY funny movie.
Wow I'm not from this planet..I hated it! Mainly the ending..it is not surreal babygirl it is tasteless, nerd..the ending is a chaotic big mess literally and metaphorically as well..okay..now I'm am sitting back, and waiting for your attack..sorry but i couldn't hold in my opinion. I felt I needed to throw out...
I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a good idea and a neat story. All that food had to get funky after a while i bet. 8 minutes of credits was a little crazy though
I stumbled upon this after some heavy drinking thinking 'whatever this will kill some time', but wound up LOVING this film. Funny funny stuff, top notch voice acting and animation. I cant belive James Caan voiced the dad..epic. also lols @ Steve
gotta love this film its awesome - not seen a funny kids movies for ages (since shrek 1 actually) this was long overdue a great film made by 'alot of people'
