A poet (Ledger) falls in love with an art student (Cornish) who gravitates to his bohemian lifestyle -- and his love of heroin. Hooked as much on one another as they are on the drug, their relationship alternates between states of oblivion, self-destruction, and despair.

The doctors, lawyers, teachers and cops you're talking about may have tried it one time to be cool in High School. But trying doesn't mean they do it every day or week or whatever.
So stop encouraging people to do drugs. EVERY drug is bad. Only the time that it needs to have to destroy a body is different with every drug..
no one does drugs to "be cool" because that is soo 70s. people who do it try it once and thats it. people who keep doing it are addicted. it will be bad for you if you do it everyday.
Like all drugs/ingredients each and every person may become sensitive or insensitive to it.
Don't think I'm on any band wagon here. Our fine Government thinks that we don't or should not have
the right to choose for our selves. Each person has there full right to there opinion.
Like a$$ holes we all have them and they all stink LOL.
Lets Take Salt it is bad for some and not good for most. Does that make it illegal?

This movie wasnt great..and I cant say I enjoyed it immensely. Where was the depth/ We know they were junkies but where was the rest of the storyline. Besides the fact

This movie gets 1/5 stars. It was going somewhere I thought and then just fell flat on its face.
i couldnt even get through 15mins of it..its like the storyline is drawn out to long to where its boring to watch..i was interested, but i guess i didnt care to give the film time to be interesting!! id give it 2 stars out of five..just on what i have watched so far!!
This movie is Great, though so deep and sad.
Heath Ledger makes is all bittersweet and Abbie Cornish is so beautiful and amazing.
It also makes me think and shows me that how much i'm should be glad that i did not take the damn drugs when my friends smoked in front of me. I'm really happy!!
LOVE THIS MOVIE. i can watch it over and over and still be entertained. great acting, great story, just GREAT. maybe its because i can relate on many levels but this will always be one of my favorites! so realistic too. 10/10!
It wasn't the best movie ever but it left me with a haunting feeling that stuck with me.. it effected me and Heath Ledger was one of the best actors ever in my opinion.. sigh
this has been 1 of my favorites 4 awhile its very very realistic..and the ending is also realistic it may not be the traditional happy ever after but it is realistic
I liked the way the story was developed, but the ending left me quite confused..I hate good movies with crappy endings..but overall i think it is worth the watch..
The story line was original, realistic and wonderfull. Heath Ledger is awesome as an actor in it and the realisation is simple and intelligent

I was so desapointed at the end when he leave her, but it was the best thing fo her. They were meant to be, but he wanted a better life for her and he prefered see her heathly without him than to see her sufer. I also liked when she wrote their story on their home's walls
my oh my what a genious movie.Such a story of a soul sucking drug habit.The struggles and the terrible things that go along with such a life.
A fantastic film.A bit slow..not an action movie by any means but an emotional journey.I think most people nowadays know someone with a drug habit..and maybe this could open their eyes to what can happen.
Heath ledger did a wonderful job.his character was so endearing.The girl was good too.Quite a beauty and a nastygirl.
Definately watch this film if your feelings moody or insightful.can be watched many times
why because you want the cliche they get back together and live happily ever after fairy tale ending? well let me tell you something my dear, this is what really happens when your living a lifestyle like these two and then you get clean. trust me ive been there. its best for both of them.
This movie wuz very good, n very realistic, i kno some1 who is an addict, n this movie shows just how far a person will go to get more drugs! Quitting is easier said than done, i agree w/th phrase, JUST SAY NO! its not worth it..
